Movus and Streamwise D.I., founded in Brisbane and Melbourne, respectively, are inspiring business-to-business startups that offer innovative solutions to enterprises in the energy and natural resources sector.

Following Fall 2020’s SAP accelerator program that focused on COVID-19 recovery, FinTech, and spend management, this year’s B2B program managed by SAP.iO Foundry Singapore centers on driving innovation in the energy and natural resources industries in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). Two Australian startups, Movus and Streamwise D.I. along with four revolutionary enterprises that specialise in predictive analytics, industrial assets management, workers’ safety, and wellness complete the cohort.

Damien Bueno, SAP ANZ President and Managing Director, expressed the software giant’s commitment to supporting its customers’ transformation and growth through programs like SAP.iO. He said:

“Partnering with some of Asia’s most innovative startups who are pioneering advancements across the energy, natural, and resources sectors enables us to do exactly that. This program will help our customers accelerate innovation by tapping into the expertise of cutting-edge startups from across the region, including two Aussie success stories: Streamwise and Movus.”

Movus and Streamwise D.I. Driving Innovation

Movus

In sync with the latest SAP.iO program’s objective, Movus’ vision zeroes in on supporting the four key industries– water, food, energy, and mining. The company believes that leveraging the power of machines will dramatically improve these industries for the benefit of the planet. The Queensland-headquartered startup aims “to bring consumer simplicity, combined with artificial intelligence to enable smarter machines.”

FitMachine and FitMachine EX, both leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning, are the two equipment-monitoring solutions of Movus. The FitMachine has an app that simplifies the onboarding of new FitMachines and monitoring a company’s fleet. These intelligent solutions have been utilised across various industries such as Water & Utilities, Oil & Gas, Energy, Mining, Manufacturing, Agriculture, and Buildings & Facilities.

Streamwise D.I.

Being part of the SAP.iO cohort is an ideal opportunity for Streamwise D.I. as it transitions from a progressive start-up to a solid company backed by proven technologies and a reputable brand. The Melbourne-based growing company is comprised of a diverse mix of industry veterans and young professionals including software developers, chemical, electrical, mechanical and mechatronic engineers, and data scientists.

Streamwise D.I. is a powerful IIoT integrated solution designed to enhance the performance of treatment processes such as membrane filtration, biological, solid/liquid separation, oil-water separation, sludge thickening, oxidation, and other chemical and mechanical treatment systems. Streamwise D.I. harnesses the power of AI combined with its expertise in wastewater in delivering enhanced automation and evidence-based decision intelligence across the fields of Agriculture, Light Industrial, Heavy Industrial, Mining & Mineral Processing, and Utilities.

Joining Movus and Streamwise D.I. in the SAP accelerator program are:

Guardhat (USA) – The company aims to transform work safety and workplace productivity– from wearable technology such as the Guardhat smart hardhat to a marquee Industrial IoT (IIoT) platform that improves data collection and analysis in industrial workplaces.

Timeshifter (USA) – Known for the world’s first technology platform for circadian timing, Timeshifter translates sleep and circadian neuroscience into real-world tools. Developed by world-renowned scientists, Timeshifter’s Jet Lag app is used by astronauts, elite athletes, top CEOs, and shift workers in optimizing their sleep, alertness, health, and quality of life.

NavVis (Germany) – Based in Munich with offices in New York and Shanghai, NavVis enables service providers and enterprises to capture and share the built environment as photorealistic digital twins through its SLAM-based mobile mapping systems that generate high-quality data with survey-grade accuracy at speed and scale.

Hacarus (Japan) – Kyoto-based Hacarus provides highly accurate AI tools from small data sets to develop explainable solutions to be used in the medical and manufacturing fields. The company aims to provide truly useful digital solutions by applying its unique sparse modeling technology to AI.

The six B2B startups will participate in a 13-week virtual program with access to mentorships, SAP tech and APIs, and collaboration opportunities with SAP customers across over 25 industries.
