Automic Software, a business automation software provider owned by CA Technologies, has announced a service combining test data automation, test automation and self-services for SAP environments.

According to Automic, many organisations find it difficult and time-consuming to provide appropriately anonymised copies of SAP data for use by development, testing or QA teams, which can cause delays in agile development processes. Traditionally it might take more than four weeks to create working test environments, at a significant cost.

“Today, every business is a digital business,” said Chris Boorman, CMO, Atomic. “As organisations implement digital transformation strategies, they need to align the pace of new technology with traditional ERPs and core business applications. Atomic Continuous Delivery for SAP empowers organisations to deploy SAP copies for development and testing purposes at the click of a button, enabling rapid and agile development of digital transformation initiatives.”

The Automic solution reduces the test environment creation process to hours, enabling a complete SAP landscape refresh.

According to the company, the solution will reduce the cost of storage and provision of test data, accelerate testing and QA cycles with self-service provisioning and test case execution, ensuring quality and consistency by using fresh data on test cases, increases compliance by anonymising sensitive data in non-production environments, and speeds time to market speeds with shorter cycles in back-end applications.

Among the users of the solution so far are a global audit, tax and advisory firm and a global developer and marketer of premier beer and cider brands.
