BackOffice Associates, a specialist in information governance and data modernisation solutions, has acquired data intellectual property for SAP software from Proceed Engineering Solutions.

The new capabilities will be incorporated into BackOffice’s dspArchive application to strengthen its analysis, simulation and execution of archiving activities for SAP ERP and SAP S/4HANA.

Organisations use dspArchive for system decommissioning activities, managing data partitioning during divestitures, optimisation and right-sizing of SAP S/4HANA deployments, continuously archiving data such as completed transactions, and refreshing hardware at proper scale.

According to BackOffice, undertaking regular archiving reduces the need for larger quantities of hardware and infrastructure, improves overall performance with simplified database administration and faster backup times, and allows for faster upgrades with higher-quality data, requiring less time for analysis and movement.

“Data archiving is a key aspect of best-practice enterprise data stewardship and serves as a proven accelerator for both data migration and quality initiatives,” said David Booth, chairman and CEO, BackOffice Associates. “With more and more global enterprises adopting SAP data solutions, this acquisition enhances our specialisation around the unique business processes of SAP archiving using standard SAP tools.”

BackOffice also recently announced a partnership with Infor on its Data Migration Accelerators, which will help companies manage their data when migrating from on-premise solutions to the cloud.

“Data migration is one of the biggest concerns that CIOs have in trying to transition to a modern, cloud-based infrastructure; they want to reap the benefits of the cloud but worry about their vast amounts of data. The Infor Data Migration Accelerators provide a simple approach for identifying complexities and charting a course for accurate data migration from start to finish,” said Darren Saumur, senior vice president, Infor Services.

“By aligning with BackOffice Associates, we have fortified the data migration process to ensure that our customers gain visibility and reduce risks when transitioning to the cloud.”
