SAP has announced a version of SAP Business One for HANA, the first business management solution for small and midsize enterprises (SMEs) running fully on in-memory technology.
The new application powered by HANA will integrate the capabilities of an in-memory platform with the company’s existing SAP Business One application in an effort to help SMEs cope with the unprecedented growth and ‘big data’ of the convergence of social device, equipment and corporate data.
The speed offered by in-memory computing has leveraged certain features of the application, including enterprise search and interactive operational analysis.
The ability to gain deeper insight into operational analytics is expected to be a drawcard for SMEs, with the platform more suited for “scalability and better system performance in a highly concurrent environment”.
By using the same system that runs the transactional processes to offer business insights in real-time, the need for a separate data warehouse has been eliminated, which will help SMEs to lower costs and reduce IT landscape complexity, according to SAP.
Partners will also be able to create add-on solutions in dedicated industry or geographic markets, through the integration of SAP HANA with SAP Business One.
The offering was announced at CeBIT 2013 in Hanover, Germany and is planned for sale worldwide by value-added resellers in the SAP PartnerEdge program.
