Ciber expands Managed Services into Australian market

Global IT consulting firm Ciber is launching its Managed Services offering in the Australian market.

Already a growing part of the company’s business in North America and Europe, the Managed Services offering will allow Australian clients to hand off IT implementation, maintenance and support on critical enterprise applications.

Ciber Managed Services director Michael Schmidt said the move has been made in response to customer demand.

“After we implement ERP systems from leading providers like SAP and Oracle, we’re increasingly seeing clients ask for ongoing support and maintenance. Clients recognise that Ciber’s Managed Services team can help them get the most from the ERP solutions they’ve chosen,” Schmidt said.

“At the same time, Managed Services help clients run their ERP solutions they’ve chosen. At the same time, Managed Services help clients run their ERP applications with predictable operations expense, as well as reduced demand for infrastructure and often hard-to-find staff.”

Ciber Managed Services are offered in three areas of emphasis: Application Management, Infrastructure Management and Service Desk Solutions.

Jonathan Bucktin, managing director of Ciber in Australia, said, “Ciber Managed Services clients are seeing cost reductions of 20 per cent or more, and those savings become evident quickly, usually within six months. Last year, 45 per cent of Australian employers who answered a Manpower Group survey said they were having trouble finding skilled staff, and IT staff was number six on the list of hard-to-fill roles. We think this is a perfect time for Ciber Managed Services to enter the Australian market and help employers meet their IT needs.”
