On the Move: New COO for Presence of IT

By Freya Purnell
HR/payroll and workforce management solution specialist Presence of IT (PoIT) has appointed Thomas Gudman as chief operating officer, based in Sydney.

Reporting to CEO David Brookes, Gudman will lead all operational aspects of the business including shared services, sales operations, HR, IT, finance and legal.

Gudman joins PoIT from Microsoft, where he spent nine years in various leadership roles across the corporate, regional and subsidiary levels. Most recently, he was country manager of Microsoft Business Applications in Australia, with responsibility for marketing, partner channel strategy, sales engagement and operations.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Gudman worked for Tier 1 consulting companies including A.T. Kearney and Pricewaterhouse Coopers, and has chaired multiple start-up and innovation networks, and held several advisory board positions.

On the appointment, Brookes said, “Our business continues to evolve and expand, boosted by growth in the Human Capital Management (HCM) market, which is in turn fuelled by the proliferation of cloud services. Thomas’s leadership style, his professional experience and personal approach align with our core values. I am confident that under his guidance, our team will continue to excel and deliver innovation to our customers.”

Gudman says he is excited to join PoIT, to continue the company’s fast growth in innovative and cloud-based HR solutions across multiple markets.

“Organisations that can leverage agile HR solutions to source and attract talent, mobilise talent, and align people with opportunity, will have the upper hand against their competition,” he says.

During his career, Gudman has worked in the United States, Europe and Asia Pacific, and lived in Denmark, the United Kingdom and France, before moving to Sydney in July 2011.
