SAP has promoted Adaire Fox-Martin to the position of president, SAP Asia Pacific Japan (APJ), just five months after she was appointed COO and interim APJ lead, following the resignation of former president Steve Watts.
Fox-Martin was credited in leading the region’s performance rebound in Q4 of 2013, achieving double digit growth in software and cloud. She will oversee SAP’s business in the Asia Pacific Region, excluding China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, which are managed by Mark Gibbs, president of SAP Greater China.
Prior to being appointed COO, Fox-Martin was previously senior vice president for industry business solutions. In this role she was instrumental in creating the region’s industry and go-to-market strategies, while representing APJ customer requirements in the global development and planning processes. Prior to joining SAP in 2008 as head of public sector for APJ, Fox-Martin worked for Oracle Corporation.
On the appointment, Robert Enslin, president of global customer operations, and a member of the Global Managing Board of SAP AG, said, “The Asia Pacific Japan region holds tremendous opportunity for SAP. The entire SAP Global Managing Board is confident that Adaire Fox-Martin’s experience and leadership will continue strengthening the company’s performance throughout the region and support our customer’s desire to more rapidly consume SAP innovation through our growing cloud portfolio.”
Also appointed to a new role in SAP APJ is John Ruthven as senior vice president of cloud and line of business, to continue the company’s strong momentum with enterprise cloud business in the region.
Based in Sydney, Ruthven will drive SAP’s ‘cloud first’ strategy across line of business solutions and oversee the entire cloud portfolio in the region.
“Cloud is now at the centre of every customer conversation and is at the core of our technology and business strategy,” said Fox-Martin. “Today, SAP is the world’s second largest enterprise cloud business and as we aspire to be number one, John Ruthven’s proven leadership in this space will take SAP Cloud powered by SAP HANA to the next level.”
Ruthven has 18 years IT experience, in regional and international management and sales operations roles for Zuora Inc and CA Technologies.
