With a new integration between cloud HR platform SuccessFactors and vendor management provider Fieldglass, SAP hopes to give organisations the ability to better manage their total workforce, including external workers, via a centralised capability.

The announcement was made at SuccessConnect Europe, held this week in Rome.

With 83 per cent of HR executives intending to hire more contingent employees in the next three years, according to the Workforce 2020 study by Oxford Economics and SAP, the rise in “flexible” employment presents challenges to companies in understanding, managing and optimising their total workforce.

Mike Ettling, president, SuccessFactors, said, “The use of contingent labour has not followed its traditional path – as the economy has picked up globally, it’s increasing rather than decreasing.

Having a full view of all workers gives companies a huge advantage into where their top talent is, and also enables teams to be more successful by better connecting people across the business.”

Users are now able to upload data from Fieldglass into contingent profiles in the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central solution, making them visible to everyone in the organisation through people searches and organisational charts.

Another integration between Fieldglass and the SAP SuccessFactors Workforce Analytics solution enables companies to combine employee and contingent worker data to gain insights into their total workforce and answer key questions about their talent.

According to SAP, organisations will benefit from its total workforce management capability through maximised engagement, collaboration and productivity across all talent by applying HR practices to the contingent workforce, and mitigating risks and having the insight to take action based on a true picture of workforce data.
