Ericsson has signed an agreement with SAP SE to deliver network-enabled cloud solutions for business apps and mobile device content.
Ericsson will now be able to offer SAP’s Mobile Secure cloud-based solutions, combined with an IT managed service offering to its 400+ mobile network operators, which together serve 600 million subscribers.
According to Ericsson, the advantage of the offering is that it will allow enterprises of all sizes to quickly boost its mobile strategy with a comprehensive EMM solution to configure, publish and promote apps on both managed and non-managed devices. These enterprises will also benefit from data protection and analytics that will enable the enterprise to continuously optimise its mobile strategy, via the mobile device management, mobile app management and mobile app security components.
“With the increased focus of mobile workforce productivity, this solution will enable fast deployment using the software-as-a-service delivery model,” said Per Borgklint, senior vice president and head of business unit support solutions, Ericsson. “By using this model, we can serve both small enterprises that might not have expertise in IT security as well as the Fortune 100 companies with complex needs that require more customisation.”
“As mobile network operators (MNOs) strive to support the changing mobile needs for enterprises, the planned EMM solution from Ericsson and SAP will allow them to better address these needs with faster time to market and minimal infrastructure cost,” said Rick Costanzo, executive vice president and general manager, SAP Mobile Solutions.
The enterprise mobility management market is expected to grow to $2.1 billion by 2016, according to Radicati Group.
