Excel-based SAP planning software provider Excel4apps has introduced Planning Wand for SAP to make it faster and easier for users to conduct financial planning, forecasting, posting and reporting functions in SAP without needing to leave Microsoft Excel.
The new product, which downloads and installs quickly without middleware or a data warehouse, reduces the need for IT support and training time. It can be used to create and edit Excel planning models, for distribution and collection of plan values and for validation and upload to SAP. It enables Excel-based planning by cost centre, cost element, WBS element, activity type, orders and funds and grants.
“Planning Wand is a natural extension of our Excel-based products and reflects our philosophy of creating software to empower SAP users with instant access to data through Excel,” said Melissa Neal, product manager, SAP, for Excel4apps.
Planning Wand is an add-on module to Excel4apps’ popular GL Wand financial reporting tool for reporting live data from SAP Financial Accounting and Controlling (FI/CO) modules. It works in conjunction with the company’s Reports Wand for reporting real-time data from other modules. The new module also works in conjunction with two Excel-based SAP uploading solutions offered by Excel4apps through its partner, Z Option: GLSU allowing uploads to SAP Financials and EzyScript enabling master data maintenance.
