US-based electrical, communications and data networking product distributor Graybar has deployed the SAP User Experience Management (SAP UEM) application by Knoa to help smooth its migration to SAP S/4HANA and improve its project management.

The solution is now in use across 250 locations to monitor user experience and analyse error reports, and as a result has identified several areas for potential improvements.

SAP UEM’s user analytics gives Graybar visibility into employee engagement with enterprise applications, such as pre- and post-upgrade user experience and response time, as well as identifying and addressing errors and inefficiencies without requiring employees to recreate their actions.

“SAP UEM has been a critical tool during our SAP S/4HANA migration, as it provides crucial information that previously required time-consuming outreach to each user,” said Ashton McDaniel, front line SAP and WMS support manager, Graybar.

“It has allowed us to verify that our system is processing faster and better than before, and has helped us determine whether observed errors are new, or from earlier problems that the upgrade did not resolve.”

According to Knoa, its UEM solution is helping enterprises to streamline S/4HANA migrations as well as development projects for SAP Fiori or SAP UI5, and cloud implementations such as SAP SuccessFactors and SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer.

“Graybar is just one of several customers who are accruing significant benefits by taking user experience analytics into account during the planning, design and deployment stages of SAP S/4HANA migration,” said Brian Berns, CEO of Knoa Software. “They’ve told us that they like how SAP UEM keeps the emotion out of the conversation, allowing them to see exactly what user actions resulted in an error and relay that information to the technical team.”
