SAP’s HANA platform has been named as a leader in the latest Forrester Wave for In-Memory Database Platforms, receiving high scores across the board.
The report, which was for Q3 2015, ranked 11 vendors. HANA was positioned highest in two of the three core categories Forrester used to evaluation vendors – current offering and strategy – and was among the highest in the third category of market presence.
SAP was also the only company to receive a 5/5 score for vision, data management features and transaction capabilities, and also receive a perfect score for execution, market presence, customers, partners, revenue, performance and scale, and analytics support.
Noel Yuhanna, Forrester’s principal analyst for enterprise architecture, wrote in the report, “SAP’s razor-sharp focus on in-memory technology is paying off.”
Greg McStravick, global head of database and technology, SAP, said the ranking validates SAP’s strategic path in the in-memory area.
“We are helping customers move away rom point database solutions to a much more powerful in-memory platform, capable of running any analytics and transactional application in a single environment,” McStravick said.
According to SAP, there are currently 7200 customers using HANA, with more than 850,000 active users.
