In a bid to make COVID-19 vaccinations more accessible and to assist businesses in going through processes to safely reopen, governments are utilising solutions offered by EY, Qualtrics and SAP to combat the pandemic.
In April last year, just a month after the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the COVID-19 outbreak a global pandemic, Ernst & Young (EY), Qualtrics and SAP launched a set of digital tools and resources in line with government requirements to effectively lead citizens through the ongoing crisis. The offering leverages Qualtrics’ experience management (XM) analytics technology and EY’s implementation and enablement services.
Fast forward to 2021, the three companies have once again fulfilled their commitment to providing innovative solutions. They have recently launched products that aim to help global organisations in ensuring people’s overall health and safety amid the pandemic.
In an announcement, it has been revealed that governments and businesses across the United States and Europe, the Middle East, India, and Africa (EMEIA) region are making use of EY, Qualtrics and SAP’s collaborative offerings. One of these includes Qualtrics’ contact tracing and vaccine management solutions.
Allowing governments to improve risk assessment, scheduling visits for high-risk individuals automatically, and initiating opt-in contact tracing for those who tested positive are some of the key features of the COVID-19 solution built on the Qualtrics XM Platform. R.J. Filipski, Global Head of Ecosystem at Qualtrics, stated:
“Governments around the world are seeing that resident experience matters more than ever. Putting human beings at the center of vaccine management and contact tracing efforts helps officials reach more individuals and builds trust in their communities. We are proud to work with EY and SAP teams to help communities as they work to accelerate their efforts throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Meeting the Needs of Governments Globally through EY, Qualtrics and SAP Collaboration
Moreover, governments leverage the collaborative products to make it easier for communities to be vaccinated and help enterprises reopen safely while navigating COVID-19 protocols. These can be done through expanding outreach and communication across communities, personalising the patient experience, and digitising testing and scheduling activities.
Brad Duncan, Principal, Ernst & Young LLP, US Government & Public Sector State Local & Education Leader, stated that the collaboration supports the US state and local governments in their efforts towards a secure, safe, and equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines.
Meanwhile, Hanne Jesca Bax, EY EMEIA Markets & Accounts Leader and EY Global SAP Executive Sponsor, said:
“Through this collaboration, SAP, Qualtrics and EY teams have developed effective contact tracing and vaccine management and distribution solutions that, coupled with EY implementation support skills, help governments and businesses maintain their operations and prioritise the safety of their people and customers.”
Furthermore, EY also unveiled a solution based on SAP cloud technologies called Proximity Monitor. The product, which recently won an SAP Innovation Award, aims to support the safe return to the workplace and is now at the core of the PGA European Tour’s COVID-19 strategy and protocols.
EY Proximity Monitor captures real-time data as people interact in any setting and summarises risk levels on a digital dashboard using SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP HANA Cloud — both components of SAP Business Technology Platform — running on the EY Client Technology platform.
Also commenting on the shared initiative is Jim Brett, Vice President, Global Business Development and Ecosystems at SAP. He concluded:
“Coming together to provide the assistance and support that organisations need to support citizen safety has been the foundation of this shared initiative. We are proud of our collaboration to deliver advanced technologies, guidance and solutions that organisations need to manage processes amid unprecedented times.”
