In analyst firm Gartner’s recently released ‘Critical Capabilities for Digital Commerce’ report, hybris software, an SAP company, received the highest product scores across all three use cases.
The three key use cases are ‘Multichannel Enterprises Selling to Consumers’, ‘Large Enterprises Selling Globally to Consumers’, and ‘Enterprises Selling to Other Enterprises or SMBs’.
According to Gartner, “digital commerce platforms are critical to companies’ ability to compete in a digital world and increase revenue”, and by 2018, more than 50 per cent of commerce sites will integrate technologies from more than 25 vendors deliver a digital customer experience.
For the report, published in April 2015, Gartner assessed 11 commerce vendors, on critical product capabilities including organisation/brand complexity, digital store localisation, personalisation for the consumer buyer, personalisation for the corporate buyer, and multichannel support.
Oracle Commerce, Demandware, Digital River and IBM WebSphere Commerce V7 appeared in the top three vendors for the various use cases assessed.
“We feel this report is validation of what our customers already know,” said Brian Walker, chief strategy officer, hybris and SAP Customer Engagement and Commerce. “hybris is uniquely able to meet the needs of a wide range of B2C and B2B companies across a wide variety of verticals, helping each of those firms differentiate and stay relevant in an increasingly global, omni-channel, and digital marketplace.”
