The latest integration of SAP Translation Hub’s Document Translation service with XTM Cloud intends to deliver innovation and reliability in machine translation through leading language technology solutions.
In recent years, SAP Translation Hub has been integrated into several software products from the German tech giant. Some of these offerings include SAP Business ByDesign and SAP Enable Now, which demonstrate the importance of translation when establishing global business relationships. Reflecting on this development, Ana Medina Martín, Product Manager in Language Experience (SAP Enterprise Adoption) at SAP, shared in a blog post:
“We have seen how these integrations raise the awareness towards our offering, and we believe this is a strong way to empower our customers to run multilingual businesses.”
Recognising the role of language in a successful user experience (UX), SAP Translation Hub has been constantly upgraded with new features to offer an enhanced experience on the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). Moreover, the enterprise software giant has also expanded its translation services and embedded them into the support experience for customers.
Last year, SAP Support has provided automatic translations for Expert Chat sessions. This is in addition to creating functionalities that allow customers around the world to interpret the context of an incident resolution in their native language. Moreover, the SAP Support Portal moved up the siteIQ eBusiness Index’s online support category rankings in 2019 for its support design and architecture that caters to diverse audiences.
Improving UX Through the Integration of SAP Translation Hub and XTM Cloud
To reinforce its commitment to providing customers with a streamlined and personalised UX, SAP recently partnered with XTM International — a UK-based provider of translation management software to blue-chip customers globally. The joint effort aims to deliver fast and high-quality translations by incorporating SAP Translation Hub’s machine translation API, Document Translation service, into XTM Cloud. Developed by XTM International, XTM Cloud is an enterprise Software as a service (SaaS) translation management platform with an integrated computer-aided design (CAD) translation tool.
Commenting on the announcement, Dr. Thomas Wienold, Head of Language Experience Lab at SAP, said:
“As we approach our 50th anniversary in 2022, we’re excited to find new ways of adding value for SAP users. Partnership with XTM International links two global leaders and delivers automation with a purpose.”
Furthermore, this collaboration by the two enterprise technology leaders is the first external integration of SAP Translation Hub into a non-SAP product. As the next-generation localisation management system, XTM Cloud intends to boost business productivity by putting together intelligent automation and advanced workflow management.
According to the statement released, SAP Translation Hub and XTM Cloud will combine highly automated processes with improved machine translation and a secure, private post-editing landscape to deliver efficient workflows.
Key features of the partnership include:
- Enabling XTM Cloud customers to select SAP Translation Hub as a machine translation provider at the system, customer, and project or template levels.
- Offering relevant linguistic assets and project settings for project managers.
- Providing enterprise-related and industry-focused machine translation suggestions in over 90 language pairs.
Also expressing his delight at the new collaboration, Bob Willans, Founder and CEO at XTM International, shared in the press release:
“We continuously seek partnerships that enhance the user experience, and this integration with SAP Translation hub offers users a direct line to the benefits of machine translation, delivering the scalability that ambitious enterprise clients love.”
