Mobile growth an “inflection point”: Riley

By Elizabeth Kelleher

SAP New Zealand managing director Graeme Riley has described the recent proliferation of mobile devices as an “inflection point” for business and technology.

Addressing SAP customers and partners at the recent SAP APJ World Tour 2010 in Auckland, Riley said SAP’s recent acquisition of Sybase has given the company an unrivalled opportunity to deliver enterprise applications to mobile devices.

“SAP will once again take a leadership position at this inflection point, through the delivery on premise solutions for customers that prefer on-premise, while offering applications in the cloud and on demand for those customers who prefer that consumption model,” said Riley.

“The SAP commitment can be summarised: anywhere, anytime, unwired. And of course, the orchestration of data and processes across these three layers into one seamless information system.”

Riley commented that SAP’s on-premise, on-demand, on-device strategy is essentially about “making enterprise applications accessible to all, at blisteringly high speeds, in an orchestrated and transparent manner”.
