By Anne Widjaja

SAP has recently launched a new program for mobile developers of B2B and B2C apps, which includes a free mobile developer license for 30 days, a Mobile Apps Partner program and additional support for integrating software development frameworks, such as Adobe, Appcelerator Titanium and Sencha.

The new program aims to make mobile developer offerings from SAP simpler and more accessible, with an open platform that easily integrates with third-party tools and supports industry standards.

On the value of the mobility opportunity in the modern workplace, Sanjay Poonen, president, mobile division, SAP, said, “Mobile technology has become the touch-point that unites the workforce across any organisation, no matter the size, and SAP has been recognised as the leading mobile platform today by analysts. We recognise that this presents valuable opportunity for the millions of mobile developers looking for ways to monetise and scale.”

On offer as part of the mobile developer program are:
•    Free 30-day trial: including a complete hosted landscape, SAP mobile platform and the SAP ERP app
•    Free developer license on Amazon Web Services (AWS): offers access to a hosted developer environment through AWS and a software developer kit
•    SAP Mobile Apps Partner Program: includes technical and commercialisation support, and also allows developers to sell apps through SAP’s apps marketplace. The program also includes a starter package for development licenses, hosted sandboxes and development environments.
