SAP’s commitment to move its Australia and New Zealand headquarters to Winten Property Group’s 1 Denison Street office tower in North Sydney has been announced two years ago before the completion of the 39-storey building. The new office design and set-up meet SAP ANZ’s sustainability and procurement goals.
As a true testament to SAP’s investment in the ANZ market, partners, customers, and employees, SAP ANZ has officially moved to its new local home– 1 Denison St., North Sydney. The commercial building is the largest and tallest within the North Sydney CBD, providing more than 60,000 square metres of premium office space with a two-level lifestyle precinct and basement parking for 225 cars.
Housing Brands Under One Roof
The new SAP ANZ headquarter sits on a 9,374-sqm space across five floors, big enough property to house many brands. For the first time, SAP Ariba, SAP Concur, and SAP SuccessFactors will be under one roof as part of the company’s new strategy.
“The new SAP A/NZ headquarters supports our strategy of creating a simple and streamlined experience for our customers, by bringing together our brands in one office for the first time. This includes SAP Concur, SAP SuccessFactors and SAP Ariba, along with all our corporate teams and functions,” said, Damien Bueno, President and Managing Director, SAP ANZ.
Meeting Sustainability and Procurement Goals
SAP ANZ MD explains how the new home of SAP ANZ perfectly fits the company goals. He said:
“The environmentally conscious design of 1 Denison also supports our ambitious sustainability and procurement aims, while providing a sleek and inspiring space for our people, partners, and customers to come together, innovate, collaborate and enjoy the social side of work.”
“The events of this year will permanently change how offices operate, but we have long supported an anytime, anywhere flexible working policy. Our office design reflects this, with significant areas dedicated to co-working, co-innovation, and collaboration, for our people to use whatever their working preferences,” Bueno further stressed.
SAP ANZ MD Bueno is also one of 22’s local business leaders who have joined the Australian Climate Leaders Council lobbying for Australia to meet its Paris Agreement climate targets.
Aside from relocating in the 5 Green Star rated skyscraper to meet SAP ANZ’s sustainability and procurement goals, the technology firm also said that it would divert 5 percent of addressable procurement spend to social enterprises and 5 percent to diverse and indigenous businesses.
Furthermore, SAP ANZ also takes advantage of the recently launched, new purpose-led partnership with Social Traders. The partnership is designed to accelerate the sector’s impact by creating corporate spend opportunities through SAP’s Ariba network and to support the capability and capacity of social entrepreneurs to scale and deliver to these new markets through mentorship with SAP. Through Social Traders, SAP ANZ will be tapping Australian social enterprise suppliers to provide office essentials including stationery, wine, tea, and coffee.
A Space for Growth
The relocation of SAP ANZ to a bigger space housing many brands couldn’t have come at a more opportune time. Australia is projected to be a hot spot of SAP partner activity as the German software giant’s global channel market is set to hit US$260 billion by 2024.
SAP’s Channel Chief for Australia and New Zealand Mark Hettler said that increased demand from its international partners to set up operations on local shores is anticipated, specifically, to cater for cloud and S/4 HANA demand.
According to Hettler, SAP ANZ is expecting over 500 Australian companies to move to the new platform over the next seven years, including the retail giant Woolworths.
“Digital transformation has been increasingly important for some time, with growing demand for digitisation across enterprises. COVID has just accelerated what was already happening – digital transformation is no longer an option, it’s a must,” Hettler said.
