The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has appointed former Accenture ANZ head of products Ramez Katf as its new chief information officer.
The appointment, which was first reported by ITnews, permanently fills the chair left vacant when Bill Gibson left the ATO in November 2014, after 11 years in the role.
Jane King, deputy commissioner of the ATO’s workforce adjustment project, was acting in the role in the interim.
Katf has spent 29 years with Accenture, holding various roles management and client leadership roles in ANZ and across the APAC region, including as technology delivery lead for Health and Public Service in Australia, Government OG client service group lead for ASEAN and Australia, and APAC delivery lead for the Technology growth platform. He also spent time as account lead for the ATO.
Katf will take up the role with the ATO, a long-term SAP customer, next year, and be based in Brisbane.
