SAP change intelligence software provider, Revelation Software Concepts, has today launched Salt version 2.0, featuring a new interface and new change intelligence and management functions.
Salt 2.0 will provide users with usability enhancements and a host of new functions via the same virtual appliance as the original version.
The new interface features a redesigned dashboard with a recent listing of changes and a live view of change occurring across all systems. Warnings now reveal out-of-date data. Navigation has also been improved. The enhanced matrix software is now capable of comparing systems with more than 10,000 objects.
Salt technology is currently installed on hundreds of large SAP solution-based IT systems, across 50 countries.
The solution provides information on system status, integrity across landscapes and change intelligence. It automates and customises crucial insights into system integrity across the landscape, and can alert change teams to potential areas of threat.
David Drake, RSC founder and creator of the Salt technology, explained how changes to Salt 2.0 was inspired by feedback from Salt users.
“We first previewed Salt two years ago. Since then, we’ve made it a top priority to listen to our community of users about their experiences with Salt. Their response has been remarkable.”
“That community input helped direct us as we created this next version of Salt. It is more powerful, more usable as a set of integrated utilities.”
Salt 2.0’s new interface presents more information in a single screen and provides more consistent reports across all of Salt’s various utilities and functions. The utilities now reveal version anomalies across the landscape, track the status of Work in Progress and note the whereabouts of old changes that could cause stability problems.
