Taronga Conservation Society Australia’s adoption of SAP Analytics Cloud software came after the latest upgrade of its enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to SAP S/4HANA Cloud in October 2021, as part of the foundation’s digital-first approach for business operations.
Taronga Conservation Society Australia, the NSW government agency responsible for Taronga Zoo and Taronga Western Plains Zoo, has recently expanded its partnership with German software giant SAP in a bid to modernize its enterprise reporting system and, consequently, drive efficiencies in its wildlife conservation efforts. Spurring from the successful SAP S4/HANA Cloud migration, which was designed to drive process modernization and innovations for its staff along with delivering transformational experiences to guests, Taronga has deployed SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) to provide comprehensive insights for enhanced decision-making.
Leveraging SAC, Taronga was able to automate financial and operational processes as well as provide its executive team visibility on critical commercial insights including guest feedback, admission trends, ticket sales, and effective marketing campaigns– significant in making intelligent decisions based on real-time, contextual insights.

Taronga’s SAC adoption was jointly supported by SAP’s Cloud Success Services and Industries & Customer Advisory Innovation Experience. The integration required the consolidation of data from disparate SAP and non-SAP source systems into a unified analytics platform with consistent data structures. The organization is looking into expanding the SAC implementation across finance, procurement, payroll, and human resources.
