Plataine has announced that its digital manufacturing software will integrate with SAP Manufacturing Execution (SAP ME) to help both enterprise and mid-sized manufacturers meet the highest levels of productivity, quality, and efficiencies.
As the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic forced the manufacturing industry to transform, more and more organisations globally are turning to the latest intelligent technologies such as the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and cloud computing to better position themselves in the competitive market.
With this, SAP has been actively contributing to various industry standards by creating guidelines for compatible industry solutions. The tech giant’s partnership with Siemens announced in July 2020 was initially focused on the manufacturing industries to help them drive digital transformation, increase productivity, and accelerate innovation.

By signing an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) agreement, Plataine’s solution will now be functioning with SAP ME to improve product traceability and manufacturing reliability using automated data collection and centralised processes.

By facilitating automation, monitoring, and digital management of operations, the solution also provides operational visibility from shop floor to top floor.
Plataine’s cloud-based IIoT and AI-based Software for Digital Manufacturing, on the other hand, acts as Digital Assistants that deliver smart recommendations and actionable alerts to production floor staff in real-time to further digitalise manufacturing processes. Machine connectivity and IoT sensors further amplify the impact of Plataine’s AI and help eliminate the need for manual administrative tasks.
