SAP is offering free access to a few SAP Ariba Sourcing tools and resources—SAP Ariba Start Sourcing, SAP Ariba Start Sourcing Starter Kit, and SAP Ariba Discovery—to help enterprises of all sizes reignite their procurement and supply chains and ensure business continuity during the global pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic has unleashed unprecedented global supply chain disruptions, and the implications for many businesses may prove to last for years to come if they do not act quickly and reassess how they address supply chain management.

To prevent further disruptions and mitigate risks, business leaders must build supply chain resiliency, reinforce and accelerate strategic actions, and ensure transparency across the entire supply chain network by expanding and digitalising sourcing and distribution processes.

In a bid to help keep supply chains intact during the pandemic, SAP has provided open access to SAP Ariba software tools and resources that offer sourcing events management, real-time connectivity in the global digital supply network, and innovations to simplify procurement, fulfillment, and financial supply chain management processes.

Sourcing Solutions from SAP

Managing Sourcing Events

SAP announced that customers can sign up for free access to SAP Ariba Start Sourcing software on SAP Ariba Network—the world’s largest commerce network—until July 31, 2020. The cloud-based RFx management tool is delivered on-demand and equips procurement professionals to quickly create, execute, and manage sourcing events right from their desktops. The solution features comprehensive key features that allow for a cost-efficient way of connecting with millions of suppliers across the globe. These features include:

  • RFX creation and management
  • Competitive bidding
  • Supplier profile and response management
  • Communications and messaging
  • Global and multi-lingual capabilities
  • Multi-currency options
  • Reporting

Customers who sign up get five user licenses for the free solution and post up to 90 events over 90 days. Previously, SAP Ariba Start Sourcing only allowed access to two users for two sourcing events per month.

In addition to the free access, SAP is also offering SAP Ariba Start Sourcing – Starter Kit, a new openSAP course that provides step-by-step guidance on how to use the Web-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) technology. The free course also includes various solution demos, sourcing insights, and a guide on how to ‘upgrade’ to SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing.

Gaining Access to a Global Marketplace

Last week, SAP Procurement Solutions Team also announced that the ERP giant is extending open access to SAP Ariba Discovery through to the end of 2020, enabling buyers and suppliers to connect on the SAP Ariba Network for free.

SAP Ariba Discovery is a platform where any business can post sourcing needs and any of the four million suppliers from over 190 countries on the SAP Ariba Network can respond with their ability to deliver the goods and services. The sourcing solutions platform helps bring together buyers and suppliers and empowers enterprises of all sizes to build a resilient supply chain as they face today’s challenges and disruptions.

Chris Haydon, president of the SAP Procurement Solutions Team said,

“COVID-19 disrupted global supply chains more significantly than most businesses have ever experienced. Companies realize now more than ever the power of procurement, digital networks, and the ability to find new sources of supply quickly. We are extending this offer to continue to accelerate connections between buyers and suppliers and to help ensure supply needs are fulfilled as quickly as possible during this challenging time.”
