SAP releases new cloud offerings

SAP has released two new cloud offerings as part of their social media strategy.

The offerings, which according to SAP will change how business people interact with customers, colleagues and partners, include the SAP Jam social software platform and the SAP Social OnDemand solution.

SAP Jam combines the best parts of SuccessFactors Jam for enterprise social networking and allows colleagues to easily connect, enabling them to collaborate through data, content and processes at work.

“The enterprise social software market is maturing quickly with a 39.8 per cent year-over-year growth rate in 2011,” said Vanessa Thompson, research manager, IDC, Enterprise Social Networks and Collaborative Technologies.

“Today’s organisations are looking to collaborate in real time and in context, inside and outside the firewall, to include employees, customers, partners and suppliers. SAP Jam can provide the ability to intelligently filter information so that employees can, with system help, surface important information in the work context.”

Aimed at helping marketing organisations improve their social media approach, SAP Social OnDemand uses real-time monitoring, routing and escalation to hone in on key trends and simplify the process of prioritising and engaging on social media.

According to SAP, the solution ensures that critical conversations are not missed and that responses are appropriate, based on a poster’s profile that includes social influence metrics as well as customer data from other enterprise systems.
