Under the scope of SAP’s Industry Cloud solutions, the German tech giant and its partners are developing industry-tailored cloud solutions that are differentiated from one another to meet the requirements of multiple industries and markets.

Industry cloud solutions that were built by SAP and its partners in an open ecosystem provide businesses an easy access point to new vertical solutions across a wide range of industries, including the automotive, telecommunications, and high technology sectors. Enterprises are able to begin the process of cost-effective digital transformation and sustainable growth while navigating disruptions and changes in the business environment by utilizing solutions that are designed to be interoperable with the intelligent suite offered by SAP.

Demonstrating the German software vendor’s efforts to expand its solutions in the automotive industry, particularly in the leasing and rental space, SAP has added BearingPoint’s Lease & Rent solution in the Industry Cloud solutions portfolio. An SAP Gold Partner, the privately-held tech consulting and services provider has offices in over 25 locations across North America, Europe, the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, and the Middle East.

Now available in the SAP Store, BearingPoint’s solution is based on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) and integrates with SAP enterprise resource planning (SAP ERP), SAP Digital Vehicle Suite, and SAP S/4HANA Cloud through the use of SAP Analytics Cloud. As a component of SAP’s Industry Cloud portfolio tailored specifically for the automotive sector, the solution provides customers with integrated leasing and rental workflows from beginning to end.

Adding BearingPoint’s Solution to SAP’s Industry Cloud Offerings

Donald Wachs, Globally Responsible for IP Assets on the Management Committee at BearingPoint, stated that the company’s solution offers comprehensive digital solutions for the administration of contract lifecycles, full-service leasing, vehicle logistics, billing, and accounting integration. According to the press release, invoicing is done on the basis of contract price, and it is connected with the modules of the SAP ERP Central Component (SAP ECC) in order to create documents. These documents then enable unified business processes and synchronized transactions.

“BearingPoint Lease & Rent is also a great proof point of how we collaborate with SAP on its industry cloud portfolio,” Wachs added.

Furthermore, SAP Global Vice President of IBU Automotive Hagen Heubach said that leasing and rental management are taken to greater levels with BearingPoint’s solution, which also completely integrates with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP Digital Vehicle Suite, and SAP Analytics Cloud. He believes the application is a valuable addition to SAP’s Industry Cloud solutions portfolio for the automotive sector.

“This is a prime example of how co-innovation between our organizations can deliver value for customers. We look forward to continued collaboration with BearingPoint to create innovative cloud solutions and applications for customers who want to drive cost-effective and sustainable growth in their industry,” Heubach remarked.

The new industry development follows the two companies’ extended collaboration earlier this year. SAP’s partnership with the Amsterdam-based IT consultancy expanded the SAP Product Footprint Management application roadmap to support clients in maximizing the sustainability of their investments in the latest technologies.

SAP Product Footprint Management intends to make it easier to collect data and conduct analyses, which in turn helps businesses accomplish their end-to-end environmental and carbon footprinting goals. The solution is an embedded SAP S/4HANA cloud-native app that integrates with the Intelligent Enterprise framework as well as other data sources. BearingPoint’s deep knowledge and experience of product and enterprise footprint algorithms have been leveraged in the development of the solution.
