Silicon Valley-based, AI-driven automation company Seeloz Inc. has signed an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partnership with SAP to leverage the power of SAP HANA and the scalability of the SAP Cloud Platform to assist hospitals, retailers, food distributors, and distributors of pharmaceutical and medical supply in reducing supply chain waste.
“Around 30 per cent of worldwide production from food, medicine and medical supply goes to waste every year,” said Dr Mohamed Aly, founder and CEO, Seeloz Inc. “Pharmaceutical waste approaches 100 billion dollars annually in the US alone. Seeloz leverages AI and automation to minimise this waste,” he said.
The partnership is intended to accelerate the growth of Seeloz’s scalable Operational Optimisation System (OOS), starting with hospitals and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) in the US and in selected International markets, enabling them to achieve tangible and immediate supply cost reductions.
“We’re confident that collaborating with a giant in the enterprise software world such as SAP will boost our ability to mature the OOS and allow us to seamlessly embed it in the daily procurement workflows across the different targeted customers,” said Aly.
Waste amounting to billions of dollars each year is created by the disconnect between the forecasted patient needs derived from Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and the procurement workflows run through ERPs. Waste is created primarily in the form of supply expirations, overstock, stock-outs, and cross-warehouse movements.
Seeloz is bridging the disconnect between EMRs and ERPs using a layer of intelligence autonomously running procurement workflows with the twin goals of optimising supply availability and minimising waste.
Seeloz provides OOS versions tailored to the individual needs of food and healthcare providers, distributors, and manufacturers.
