Auckland-based SAP reseller, Soltius, has been awarded the Amazon Web Services (AWS) SAP Competency, becoming the first organisation to do so in New Zealand, and only the second in the entire ANZ region.

According to AWS, its SAP Competency status is awarded only to SAP resellers that have demonstrated success in helping their customers implement, migrate and manage SAP applications on the AWS Cloud.

Soltius partnered with AWS last autumn to launch an AWS Cloud practice specialising in the migration of SAP environments to the AWS Cloud. Subsequently Soltius has been made a full AWS reseller partner.

“As an AWS advanced partner and reseller we can deliver significant cost benefits to our customers,” said Nick Mulcahy, CEO, Soltius.

Other benefits he cited include a billing console that provides greater visibility of their AWS services as well as the ability to offer architectural advice that enables them to maximise their use of the cloud.

“New Zealand businesses of all sizes are now running in the cloud to simplify infrastructure management, improve time-to-market and lower costs,” said Mulcahy. “AWS offers a reliable and secure infrastructure platform that lets businesses quickly deploy their solutions in the cloud. As the benefits of the cloud continue to grow and in many cases outperform on-premise solutions for some businesses, it makes sense for us to be out there leading from the front.”
