Cisco-EMC cloud infrastructure provider, VCE, has teamed up with SAP to offer the HANA database as part of its new Vblock portfolio.
The partnership will see VCE deliver SAP-certified HANA software on its Vblock Speacialized System, which comes pre-installed and is delivered onsite.
The offering is part of a larger introduction of new software and hardware aimed at mid-market enterprises and solution providers looking to enhance their data centre environments.
VCE has launched two models of its Vblock system converged infrastructure offerings, Vblock System 100 and 200.
The 100 is targeted for remote office/branch office deployments and extends the value of Vblock System 200, 300 or 700. The 200 aims to expand VCE’s market reach to mid-sized data centres.
Enhancements are also being made to its Vblock 300 and 700 offerings.
“Through incorporation of the latest Cisco, EMC and VMware technologies, Vblock System 300 and Vblock System 700 families now have up to twice the capacity and performance capabilities, allowing customers to efficiently scale-up to the highest levels of operational performance,” VCE said.
Developed for the entire Vblock portfolio, VCE Vision Intelligent Operations, launched last week, integrates with VMware’s virtualisation and cloud management portfolio to enable converged infrastructure management and inform customer management frameworks about Vblock Systems.
Vblock System 100 is targeted for availability in March. Vblock System 200, VCE Vision Intelligent Operations and Vblock Specialized System for SAP HANA are targeted for general availability in early Q2, 2013. Enhancements to Vblock System 300 and Vblock System 700 families are available immediately.
