As part of the SAP Business Process Intelligence (BPI) portfolio, the SAP Process Insights solution enables organisations to generate dynamic, real-time reports to analyse and improve the speed and efficiency of existing business processes.

During the SAPPHIRE NOW 2021 online conference, the enterprise software giant has revealed the SAP Process Insights solution that tracks process workflows using data collected from its enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite. The platform is part of the SAP BPI portfolio of products, which also includes Signavio’s process analytics, design, and optimisation capabilities following its acquisition in January. Signavio’s integrated cloud-native process management suite complements SAP’s BPI solutions to help customers transform and monitor their business processes at a scale.

Expected to reach general availability in the third quarter of 2021, the SAP Process Insights tool will also integrate with SAP Intelligent Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to recommend improvements. This is in addition to allowing users to capture and automate processes that involve both end-users and machines. According to SAP, the solution delivers transparency about additional sources of value within SAP S/4HANA or the SAP ERP application to maximise returns across business areas. For a clearer understanding of business processes, companies can strengthen continuous improvement initiatives with enhanced process drill-downs and performance views.

In an interview with CIO.com, Wassilios Lolas, Global Vice President, Center of Excellence and Solution Management, Business Process Intelligence at SAP, expounded on how the SAP Process Insights offering works to transform business processes. He explained:

“The solution provides business professionals with out-of-the-box capabilities to very quickly analyze business processes that run through SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA systems and get tailored recommendation on how to fix or improve them. However, for non-SAP systems, organisations are able to benefit from our recent acquisition of Signavio that is able to provide analysis and modelling.”

Strategic Partnerships to Leverage SAP Business Process Intelligence Solutions

Furthermore, the tech giant has also announced partnerships that can help customers achieve process transformation with SAP BPI solutions. Global consultancy firms EY, Deloitte, and Infosys Limited are the initial strategic partners working with the SAP BPI portfolio to help organisations transform. As part of these strategic partnerships, insights gained from SAP BPI capabilities will be combined with the consultancies’ implementation skills and market-leading technologies. Organisations that are working with Deloitte, EY, or Infosys Limited to move their ERP system to SAP S/4HANA will be provided with support to establish the process foundation needed to build the “innovative edge of intelligent enterprises.”

Meanwhile, SAP Chief Executive Officer Christian Klein shared during a media and analyst Q&A:

“This brings that knowledge into one tool to allow customers to not only measure and benchmark their business processes but use this expertise and these insights to design the business processes in a way that helps them to grow the business, automate, and drive productivity.”

Moreover, up to 300 companies will receive six months of free access to SAP BPI solutions as part of a new promotional offer, allowing them to determine whether this technology delivers the expected value and return on investment (ROI). Additionally, SAP is offering free service days to help firms get started with implementation and get the most out of the solutions available.

Signalling SAP’s commitment to supporting businesses globally in achieving their maximum potential through ongoing, end-to-end business transformation, this enterprise-grade program will combine in-depth analysis, automated process data extraction, and data-driven process improvement recommendations.
