Enterprise asset management software vendor Prometheus Group has released a solution to extend the capabilities of SAP Plant Maintenance into the mobile environment.
The Prometheus Group Mobile solution supports plant maintenance workflow and inventory management. It functions within SAP, and requires no extra software or hardware. Supported on Android, Apple iOS and Windows, the solution can handle a variety of use cases. The solution also incorporates geospatial capabilities, providing the ability to locate employees and equipment.
A large oil and gas customer has already used the Prometheus Mobile solution to perform critical safety inspections to meet compliance requirements, reducing the amount of time required for this by 25 per cent. They were also able to capture more accurate information when notifications were created, enabling better defect elimination analysis to reduce downtime.
Prometheus has also released an SAP-certified Integrated Graphical Scheduler, which allows for scheduled, project-related and uncalled work orders to be viewed and modified together in an interactive Gantt chart.
The Integrated Graphical Scheduler, according to Prometheus, optimises resource allocation, helps to reduce costs and increase production, which has yielded an average savings in maintenance costs per site of 20 per cent or more.
