Long-time Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA) group chief information officer Barry Simpson has left Australian shores for a new US-based role.
Simpson has taken on the position of chief information officer, global operations IT services, for The Coca-Cola Company, based in global headquarters in Atlanta.
Simpson was with CCA for eight years, during which time he oversaw the deployment of the OAisys technology platform, based on SAP solutions, which replaced over 120 legacy systems at a cost of around $65 million.
According to a report by ITnews, Warwick Hutton will remain CIO for the Australian beverage business at CCA, while former group program manager Mukesh Kapadia will take on the role of general manager, group IT governance, security and architecture, reporting to CCA group CFO Martyn Roberts.
Coca-Cola Amatil operates in six countries – Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Samoa, and is one of the largest bottlers of ready-to-drink beverages in the Asia-Pacific region.
