The Al-Futtaim Group, a leading name in the Middle Eastern region, has adopted RISE with SAP on Microsoft Azure Cloud to further its commitment to digital transformation. Leveraging the power of cloud computing, the multi-billion dollar conglomerate intends to improve its business processes and foster innovation across its entire value chain.

In order to retain its strategic competitive advantage and realize massive benefits for its clients, partner organizations, and staff, the Al-Futtaim Group, a renowned family-owned business that operates across the regional automotive, financial services, real estate, retail, and healthcare industries, has decided to commit to a comprehensive digital transformation. This transformation program will be backed by its long-time partner SAP and supported by Microsoft Azure as an intelligent cloud platform.

At a highly anticipated signing ceremony recently held, the Vice Chairman and CEO of Al-Futtaim Group, Omar Al Futtaim, and SAP Global Chief Executive Officer Christian Klein were in attendance to witness the official adoption of RISE with SAP – a comprehensive solution tailored to guarantee an efficient and smooth migration of essential systems onto the cloud. This strategic move by Al-Futtaim Group is expected to increase operational efficiency significantly across its enterprise.

Once the RISE with SAP solution is implemented, Al-Futtaim Group will be able to enjoy the advantages of a fully integrated cloud system across all their business operations. They will benefit from frequent upgrades that allow them to take advantage of cutting-edge technologies and capitalize on automated and optimized processes for additional efficiency gains. This implementation is expected to revolutionize the group’s operations in terms of productivity, scalability, and resource optimization.

SAP UAE Managing Director Zakaria Haltout stated that as a result of the partnership, Al-Futtaim Group has positioned itself to become a transformative leader in the adoption of new technologies in order to provide superior value to its customers, workers, and partners. He further shared:

“Leveraging SAP’s expertise in regional automotive, financial services, real estate, retail, and health markets, and with Microsoft Azure’s comprehensive cloud infrastructure, we are confident this partnership will enable Al-Futtaim Group to achieve operational excellence and drive continued success for the company.”

Implementing SAP on Microsoft Azure Cloud

Over 33,000 people are employed by Al-Futtaim Group throughout more than 20 countries in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, and the company collaborates with more than 200 of the most respected and forward-thinking companies in the world. Due to its innovative culture and unwavering commitment to its clients, the firm is able to extend its operations and evolve with the times in the regions in which it operates.

Microsoft UAE Global Partner Solutions Lead Yvonne Chebib expressed her delight in the collaboration with Al-Futtaim Group and SAP. She mentioned that they have been working diligently to ensure a successful outcome of this joint venture. Yvonne further added that this partnership is an important step in their mission to provide cutting-edge technology solutions to customers across the UAE.

According to Chebib, Al-Futtaim Group is able to have a clear execution plan for the next stage of business transformation and further drive value through the interoperability advantages by combining SAP’s experience and cutting-edge technology with the trusted cloud infrastructure of Microsoft Azure. Leveraging the power of Microsoft Azure Cloud, RISE with SAP provides an innovative solution to meet an organization’s business needs. It is an integrated suite that enables organizations to quickly build and deploy applications in a secure cloud environment.

SAP S/4HANA is one of the new SAP cloud solutions Al-Futtaim Group will implement; it is an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system that automates business processes, lowers total cost of ownership, gives complete visibility into all operations, and can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of a wide range of businesses while still providing reliable reporting and meeting regulatory standards. The advantages include streamlined and personalized client experiences, improved procurement, supply chain, and inventory management, and the ability to provide self-service.

Moreover, Al-Futtaim Group is upgrading its existing SAP systems, such as SAP SuccessFactors for human resource management, in the cloud. By using SuccessFactors in this manner, Al-Futtaim Group is able to get comprehensive insights into its sizable regional workforce, implement a more effective pay strategy, and activate gamification and well-being tools to boost employee engagement. Non-SAP solutions can also be integrated within the SAP framework with the help of the cloud infrastructure provided by SAP and Microsoft Azure.

“This partnership is a testament to Al-Futtaim Group’s commitment to driving innovation and staying at the forefront of our industry. In line with our continued pursuit of excellence, the comprehensive SAP solution we are implementing incorporates sustainability metrics, industry best practices, extensibility, analytics, and business process intelligence,” Himanshu Shrivastava, Chief Technology Officer at Al-Futtaim Group, remarked.
