Cheekbone Beauty Implements SAP Business One ERP System

Sustainable cosmetics company Cheekbone Beauty will implement the SAP Business One ERP system to support its growing business. The company chose the platform for its flexibility and scalability, which will allow Cheekbone Beauty to keep up with its increasing business needs.

Founded in 2016, Indigenous-owned and operated cosmetics business Cheekbone Beauty has become renowned for its production of high quality, animal-friendly products with minimal environmental impact and maximum durability. Last June, the beauty brand’s founder Jenn Harper teamed up with Sephora Canada on a national initiative called #GlossedOver. For the entire month, Sephora donated proceeds from all sales of Cheekbone Beauty products to Water First, a charitable group that aims to supply clean water to Indigenous communities in the country.

According to Harper, Cheekbone Beauty found that funding and advertising took a major role in its success during the COVID-19 pandemic. She explained that this is especially true when taking into consideration the rise in popularity of online shopping or eCommerce selling in today’s digital age. Cheekbone Beauty’s wide range of cosmetic collections are available on the brand’s website as well as Sephora’s website. In addition, 15 Sephora stores across Canada stock the product line.

Integrating an ERP Platform to Support its Growth

In order to more efficiently plan and manage inventory across the company’s business-to-consumer (B2C) eCommerce store and new wholesale channels, Cheekbone Beauty decided that it needed an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Integrating eCommerce with an existing ERP solution will support Cheekbone Beauty in streamlining its order fulfillment process and increase real-time visibility into every aspect of the business. The integration will also enable the brand to more effectively manage their inventory, customer orders, and overall business operations.

Cory Boisselle, Financial Controller and Operations Manager at Cheekbone Beauty, observed that managing inventory is crucial for any company, but especially for one that has expanded significantly. He believes that keeping an excessive amount of stock is a waste of money and human resources. Boisselle added that falling short might be detrimental to development and standing due to the lost sales and cash flow.
