Hewlett Packard Enterprise Software aims to assist enterprise IT customers with the management of their private and public cloud infrastructure through the launch of containerised version of its HPE IT Operations Management (ITOM) offerings.

The four suites – Hybrid Cloud Management, Data Centre Automation, Operations Bridge and IT Service Management Automation – will be deployed with open source container technology from Docker and Kubernetes, with a quarterly update schedule.

According to HPE, customers will be able to rapidly deploy and upgrade to the latest analytics-driven ITOM suites on a variety of platforms, including bare metal, virtualised, private and public cloud infrastructures.

“The world of IT operations is experiencing unprecedented growth and complexity,” said John Banks, software sales director, applications delivery and operations management, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Software, South Pacific. “IT organisations need to be able to respond to business needs and deliver results quickly, while managing regulatory and operational compliance.”

Banks said that the HP portfolio over the last year has been oriented away from point products to integrated solutions with capabilities updated quarterly.

“Our new containerised suites simplify the day-to-day operations and deliver unprecedented time to value, enabling ITOps to run at the speed of DevOps,” he said.

In addition to the container technology, the HPE IT Operations Management suites now include other features such as development testing environments, tools for automated event reduction, root-case identification and business service modelling, and automated discovery and configuration management.
