Through RISE with SAP, global security and aerospace company Lockheed Martin Corporation will further increase its usage of SAP SaaS solutions across a wide range of core processes, including business technology platform (BTP), intelligent spending, human experience management (HXM), and digital supply chain.
Lockheed Martin Corporation has further deepened its strategic alliance with SAP to revolutionize its critical business systems that are the foundation of the OneLM Transformation Program (1LMX) — a digital transformation initiative aimed at improving the company’s overall operations. Building on its strong and established collaboration with SAP, Lockheed Martin Corporation is taking advantage of the Business Transformation as a Service (BTaaS) offering RISE with SAP to develop its enterprise cloud capabilities and provide its internal staff with the technology essential for implementing critical business operations within managed, FedRAMP-approved cloud settings through 1LMX.
The long-standing relationship between these two organizations has allowed them to progress toward the recently announced innovative project that will help propel Lockheed Martin Corporation forward in terms of technological advancement. The company will benefit from the security and scalability of the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) in order to deploy next-generation applications, including cloud infrastructure, application development services, and integration tools. Moreover, it provides the flexibility required to rapidly build new products and services while ensuring compliance with industry standards such as privacy regulations.
Furthermore, SAP Analytics Cloud is another SAP SaaS solution that will help amplify Lockheed Martin Corporation’s strategic data management and analytics goals, allowing them to gain more insight into their operations and make better-informed decisions. The cloud-based platform offers a comprehensive suite of applications that can be used to perform sophisticated analytics. With the aforementioned features enabling efficient delivery of technological advancements across the enterprise landscape, Lockheed Martin Corporation can ensure continued success in its mission-critical operations.
According to Scott Russell, Member of the Executive Board and Lead of Customer Success at SAP, Lockheed Martin Corporation intends to strengthen its standing as an intelligent, sustainable enterprise in the cloud with the help of SAP’s industry experience, the power of SAP S/4HANA, and RISE with SAP all while maintaining security and support. Commenting on the company’s relationship with the long-time SAP customer, he said:
“After nearly 25 years of partnership, we are proud that Lockheed Martin is leveraging SAP technology to tackle truly incredible missions – like taking humans back to the moon. With this announcement, they are looking beyond the moon, with one of the most innovative enterprise business and digital transformations ever conceived, hand-in-hand with SAP.”
Leveraging SAP SaaS Solutions
RISE with SAP is providing Lockheed Martin Corporation with an opportunity to innovate by bundling the necessary tools and services that will help identify efficiencies and foster enterprise interoperability. The latest collaboration with SAP supports Lockheed Martin Corporation’s mission of fulfilling the requirements of government, defense, and aerospace industries in a productive manner. Additionally, the partnership allows for a comprehensive strategy to be implemented, ultimately offering more efficient solutions to all stakeholders involved.
Moreover, the BTaaS offering will also allow Lockheed Martin Corporation to leverage its existing investment in SAP enterprise resource planning (SAP ERP) software systems by transitioning them to the cloud-based SAP S/4HANA platform. This will open up an array of possibilities, providing the company with access to a cornucopia of powerful and innovative SAP SaaS solutions. These services can be used across multiple areas related to business technology platforms, intelligent spend management, human experience management, and digital supply chain optimization – just to name a few.
