Last week SAP New Zealand announced that they have signed a Cloud Framework Agreement with the government of New Zealand.
In 2017, the New Zealand Cabinet issued a Cloud First policy as part of their ICT Strategy and Action Plan 2017. Cloud computing is intended to become a key enabler of the plan, improving key service delivery and generating substantial savings. The New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) has begun forming agreements with cloud computing suppliers on behalf of all agencies.
The Cloud Framework Agreement was formed between SAP and the DIA and extends to all NZ local and centralized government agencies. Under the agreement, all agencies are established as a single customer. Rapid deployment, flexibility, simplicity and streamlined implementation are key benefits of forming a government wide agreement.
SAP’s standardized terms under the agreement will give standardized terms and pricing to government agencies. According to the SAP press release, “SAP now supplies its cloud portfolio and services at standardized terms for SAP’s public and private cloud ERP business suite, human capital management and payroll, external workforce management, platform and data management, citizen experience and engagement, supply chain and procurement, and innovation and analytics platform.”

New Zealand has been kicking goals with SAP cloud, as evidenced by the world’s fastest implementation of S/4HANA Cloud, by Kiwi hospitality group Kāpura.
