Michael Kleinemeier will be elevated to the Executive Board of SAP SE from 1 November, when he assumes sole responsibility for the Global Service and Support organisation.
Kleinemeier joined the SAP Global Managing Board in January this year, leading the Global Service and Support area. Prior to this he was president of the Middle and Eastern Europe region in 2013, responsible for all regional go-to-market for the entire SAP product portfolio. He has been with SAP since 1989 in a variety of leadership roles.
“I’m delighted that we’ve been able to gain such a widely acknowledged and experienced expert as Michael Kleinemeier for this post,” said Professor Hasso Plattner, chairperson of the Supervisory Board of SAP SE. “I have no doubt that SAP will benefit enormously from his experience and from the good relationships he has with our customers.”
This role was previously held by Gerhard Oswald, who will remain on the Executive Board as head of SAP’s new Product Quality and Enablement organisation.
SAP said the establishment of this area reflects the growing focus on compliance with the quality standards demanded by accelerating innovation and development cycles, and the establishment of corresponding processes and control mechanisms.
“In an age of constantly shrinking product cycles, quality assurance is a rising priority. Gerhard Oswald is the ideal person to address this task,” said Plattner.
