By utilising Accenture’s industry-specific assets and knowledge, new cloud-based capabilities will be developed to boost SAP Intelligent Asset Management solutions. This collaborative effort between SAP and Accenture aims to help asset-intensive companies in industries such as energy, life sciences, and natural resources maximise their equipment performance and improve productivity.

SAP and Accenture have long been investing in co-development and innovation initiatives to provide clients with solutions to improve their most critical business operations. As part of an established partnership that spans over 40 years, the tech companies have co-created a solution that leverages SAP S/4HANA Cloud to further improve operational efficiencies in the oil and gas industry by streamlining processes and costs. The sector greatly benefits from the solution in terms of creating new revenue opportunities and reducing total cost of ownership (TCO) and operational costs.

In a recent venture, the strategic partners have once again worked closely on a unique initiative to deliver new cloud-based functionalities that strengthen existing SAP Intelligent Asset Management solutions. Caspar Borggreve, Global Lead for the Accenture SAP Business Group, said:

“Global asset-intensive companies must rely on intelligent supply chains, combined with manufacturing and operations insights that optimise the productivity and maintenance of their assets, ultimately increasing quality and reducing costs and down-time.”

Highlighting Accenture’s partnership with SAP to help organisations improve their performance by shifting maintenance strategies, Borggreve further stated:

“Accenture is extending our alliance with SAP to bring together plant operations and maintenance data in one solution that allows companies to use industry-leading practices to maximise performance of their assets from strategy to execution.”

New Cloud-Based Capabilities to Strengthen SAP Intelligent Asset Management Solutions

With SAP Business Technology Platform as the foundation, the latest capabilities announced by Accenture are planned to be integrated with SAP Intelligent Asset Management solutions and SAP S/4HANA. The SAP Intelligent Asset Management portfolio enables customers to define, execute, and monitor their optimal asset service and maintenance strategies. Backed by the agility and scalability of cloud, extending the asset management solution functionality will help companies deliver the following key benefits:

  • Providing a comprehensive view of assets with the help of new solutions that will gather and incorporate real-time condition and operational data from multiple sources, including the Internet of Things (IoT) and sensor-enabled devices.
  • Optimising the scope of work required for inspection, emergency maintenance, and planned repairs through advanced analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities that help transform assets and operational data into insights for predictive and responsive actions.
  • Producing and distributing goods and services more sustainably by giving greater visibility into work planning and improving operations’ approach in maintenance tracking.

Meanwhile, Dieter Haesslein, Global Head at SAP S/4HANA Asset and Service Management, also stressed that organisations in asset-intensive industries strive to maximise asset productivity while reducing cost, managing safety, and minimising environmental risk at the same time. Commenting on the new collaboration, Haesslein said:

“I am excited to extend our partnership with Accenture to help our customers close the loop of intelligent asset performance management with maintenance execution.”

Moreover, SAP and Accenture plan to create a co-innovation group with customers across various sectors to gather new ideas and obtain feedback on industry market standards for Intelligent Asset Management.
