The 2021 SAP Best Run Awards for ANZ recognised top Australian and New Zealand companies and SAP partners across 11 categories including The Best Run SAP Honourable Mention category.
Held at Sydney’s Doltone House, the 2021 SAP Best Run Awards for ANZ awarding ceremony recognised the most innovative business transformation of SAP customers and partners leveraging the German software giant’s products and services. Hosted by SAP ANZ Managing Director Damien Bueno and Chief Operating Officer Pete Andrew, the live-streamed event honoured the top companies in the region that have exemplified industry-leading initiatives and groundbreaking use cases and deployment of SAP technologies.
“The calibre of nominations of the 2021 SAP Best Run Awards is testament to the innovation of our customers and partners across Australia and New Zealand. What’s more, achieving this through another year impacted by the pandemic demonstrates the resilience and drive of our ecosystem. The scale, impact, and breadth of innovation we have seen throughout this year’s categories – from every company that has been shortlisted – is exceptional,” commented Bueno.
“The award submissions demonstrate technology’s powerful impact on business results, customer and employee experience, and local communities. 2021’s Best Australian and New Zealand Companies
Here are the winners of each category and their innovation stories:
Intelligent ERP Enterprise: Sydney Water, with PwC and Wipro
Australia’s largest utility company’s transformation project leveraged several SAP products such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba, SAP Concur, SAP Fieldglass, and SAP Analytics Cloud, which has allowed Sydney Water to enhance Finance and Supply Chain processes to deliver efficiency and visibility.
Runner up: Veolia, with EPI-USE
CRM & Customer Experience: Lion, with DXC Technology
Lion, one of the leading beverage suppliers in Australasia, embarked on an ambitious transformation program to create the Next Generation Lion utilising SAP CX Cloud applications such as SAP Sales Cloud, SAP Service Cloud, SAP Marketing Cloud, and SAP Cloud for Social Engagement.
Network & Spend Management: Coles, with Accenture
Dubbed as one of the largest back-of-house transformations in Coles Group, the company’s Procurement team leveraged Coles’ recent upgrade to S/4HANA to integrate SAP Ariba. The transformation project digitised and integrated key procurement processes including vendor registration, sourcing, and invoicing, among others.
Runner up: BHP
Human Resources & People Management (2 winners): Veolia, with EPI-USE and Coles, with Accenture (which branded SAP SuccessFactors as myhub)
Long-standing standing customer Veolia ANZ has implemented SAP SuccessFactors EC and EC Payroll to digitalise all core HR processes with a comprehensive integrated solution, further empowering its ‘digital employees’ and advancing the company’s holistic transformation.
Coles rolled out SAP SuccessFactors (EC /Talent) and moved Payroll (ECP) to the cloud in concurrence with the deployment of SAP Ariba and Sap S/4HANA for finance. The HR and payroll transformation program leveraging SAP SuccessFactors ( branded within the retail giant as ‘myhub’) revamped Coles’ People & Culture (P&C) model and delivered enhanced experience to its team members and managers.
Data & Analytics: NSW Rural Fire Service (second consecutive win)
NSW RFS rolled out SAP Analytics Cloud, which included detailed Financial transactional data, to act as the source of truth that provided the company better business intelligence and enhanced financial and procurement operations and reporting.
Digital Supply Chain: Rheem, with DXC Technology
The manufacturing company has implemented SAP Service Cloud and SAP Field Service Management (FSM), which delivered complete visibility and accessibility across core employee and customer experiences– enhancing the company’s service capabilities.
Next-Gen Innovator: OMV New Zealand, with Evora IT solution
One of the largest New Zealand companies and gas suppliers, OMV New Zealand leveraged SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), SAP Asset Manager, and SAP Asset Strategy and Performance Management solutions along with HoloLens 2 Device to enable its field personnel to easily recognise equipment through augmented reality to enhance productivity and ensure safety.
Industry Disruptor: Chorus, with ZAG (part of Accenture)
New Zealand’s largest telecommunications provider leveraged SAP Disputes Management and Collections ERP modules to achieve a single point for collections and case management activities and streamline processes across multiple systems.
Experience Management (2 winners): Auckland Council (which is using SAP R-UX to deliver building consents) and Beyond Blue, with Accenture
Auckland Council embarked on a ‘Regulatory User Experience (R-UX) Project” leveraging SAP Fiori apps, which provided the Council a centralised and scalable processing hub to deliver enhanced experiences to the people of Tāmaki Makaurau.
Beyond Blue implemented Qualtrics CustomerXM to support Be You, a mental health education initiative for the youth. The platform enabled Be You to maximise survey data and offered users access to a reporting dashboard to help them better appreciate and review survey responses.
The Chris O’Brien Award: Disability Services Consulting
DSC leveraged SAP Litmos to deliver an e-learning module that is person and organisation-specific for its disability support workers as well as to provide a reporting tool for all the trainings conducted.
Honourable Mention: McGrathNicol
The Advisory and Restructuring specialist firm integrated Concur Invoice and SAP S/4HANA Cloud to drive governance and visibility in invoice processing.
Aside from the Innovation Award Trophy and video interview, the Australian and New Zealand companies recognised during the 2021 SAP Best Run Awards ceremony are given the opportunity to donate up to a maximum of twenty-five thousand dollars (AUD 25,000.00) to their chosen charities.
