SAP has introduced new SAP service packages designed to provide fast and efficient support for customers implementing SAP Business Suite 4 SAP HANA (SAP S/4HANA) as part of their digital transformation.
“The offering is built on our business priorities to move our customers to the cloud, make the digital enterprise real and establish SAP S/4HANA as the digital core,” said Michael Kleinemeier, executive board member, SAP SE, Digital Business Services.
Encompassing on-premise, cloud and hybrid options, the service packages cover all SAP S/4HANA project phases and scenarios, including system conversion, landscape transformation and new implementations. The packages use SAP Activate innovation adoption, a framework that combines SAP best practices packages, implementation methodology and guided configuration to help customers streamline their SAP S/4HANA deployment.
There are four levels, each with an increasing level of engagement. SAP ActiveEmbedded for planning and safeguarding provides guidance on the impact, challenges and benefits of SAP S/4HANA, incorporating expertise on demand from a dedicated technical quality manager plus remote access to an SAP mission control centre. SAP ActiveEmbedded for technical implementation provides expert-level, detailed implementation planning that features an innovation road map tailored to customers’ specific needs, in addition to individualised technical architecture and infrastructure documentation. SAP ActiveEmbedded for functional implementation supports the implementation of innovations and new SAP S/4HANA business scenarios. It provides modified custom code based on specific system needs, enabling customers to progress quickly through an optimised business transformation based on SAP S/4HANA. SAP MaxAttention for innovation provides full end-to-end business experience focused on SAP S/4HANA, including guidance for anticipating the new business process scenarios required in the digital world.
The service packages are being provided by the Digital Business Services organisation of SAP, which was renamed from Global Service & Support last month to better reflect its focus on digital transformation. The service packages combine Digital Business Services expertise with that of the broader base of SAP partners.
Last year, Digital Business Services introduced a new model providing one simplified service portfolio under one contract from one global unit.
“Continuing the evolution that Digital Business Services began in 2015, this offering highlights our commitment to our customers on their digital transformation journeys,” said Kleinemeier.
“We want them to know that regardless of how they choose to perform their SAP software implementation, we will be there to support them,” he said.
