SAP Sapphire Unveils New Cloud Innovations

2022’s SAP Sapphire conference is offering a hybrid experience for customers and partners worldwide from May to September, combining a virtual event with an in-person event experience across nine cities namely Orlando, Mexico, The Hague, Madrid, Zurich, Beijing, Tokyo, Sao Paolo, and Munich. 

SAP’s premiere conference for customers and partners SAP Sapphire has officially kicked off its reimagined hybrid series in Orlando City on the 10th-12th of May 2022 with SAP CEO Christian Klein and Chief Marketing Officer Julia White delivering the inspiring keynote “Realise the Power of Becoming an Intelligent, Sustainable Enterprise”. The three-day event was in full gear, announcing multiple cloud and product innovations across the supply chain, sustainability, business process transformation, and no-code application development domains.

Klein highlighted that the company has been delivering mission-critical solutions integrated with deep industry knowledge for five decades to help enterprises worldwide run their best. He stated that SAP is in a unique position to drive customer success amidst the fast-changing world by delivering cloud-based solutions to support organisations’ digital transformation while addressing the most urgent challenges such as supply chain and sustainability. 

“It was an unbelievable feeling to be back on the SAP Sapphire stage earlier today! I couldn’t have been more excited to talk about how we reinvent how the world runs as a network of intelligent, sustainable enterprises. Together, we explored how our technology, our data, our business know-how, and our strong ecosystem can help address the biggest challenges facing our customers today,” he wrote on LinkedIn.

SAP Sapphire Innovation Announcements

Demonstrating commitment to innovation and customer success, the tech giant launched several updates on SAP cloud solutions and apps to provide holistic support for customers’ modernisation journey.

Supply Chain Solutions 

In partnership with Apple, SAP launched a suite of new apps centred on supply chain management made available on the Apple App Store on the 10th of May, which includes mobile apps SAP Warehouse Operator and SAP Direct Distribution– making SAP apps accessible to iPad or iPhone users. A next-generation native app, SAP Warehouse Operator expands the SAP Extended Warehouse Management to mobile settings and offers an intuitive user experience for warehouse operators. SAP Direct Distribution enables an end-to-end Direct Distribution process, from planning to delivery networking and payment.

The new SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud solution was also featured during the conference. The solution harnesses an integrated cloud manufacturing execution system (MES) and analytics to advance manufacturing processes and boost performance.

Sustainability Solutions

New capabilities in the SAP Cloud for Sustainable Enterprises and SAP Product Footprint Management solutions were highlighted to support enterprises’ sustainability initiatives and reduce product carbon footprints at scale leveraging SAP S/4HANA cloud, respectively. 

Business Process Transformation

As part of the global SAP Sapphire series, the Orlando leg featured RISE with SAP customer success stories as well as SAP partners’ bespoke solutions that enable organisations to scale business process transformation such as the new joint offering of RISE with SAP and SOAR with Accenture will be featured. New capabilities of SAP Service Cloud solution on dynamic case management and case modelling were also highlighted during the event. The innovation includes the solution’s native integration with Qualtrics XM Discover and Microsoft Teams to drive better visibility, accountability, and faster resolution time.

No-code, Low-code Development Solutions

Following the launch of SAP Appgyver on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) at SAP TechEd 2021, the unified low-code/no-code development platform now includes native integration with the SAP Service Cloud solution, which offers an omnichannel service to drive customer satisfaction and brand loyalty. SAP Sapphire also announced the enhancement of SAP Process Automation, also part of the free tier model for SAP BTP, to support no-code workflow management and robotic process automation (RPA).

Free learning journeys in the SAP Learning portal designed for citizen developers are also in SAP’s pipeline to prepare them for new no-code/low-code certifications skills.

New collaborations with SAP partners IBM, Accenture, and Icertis, among many, were also announced during the SAP Sapphire in Orlando. Following her keynote on the first day of the event, SAP CMO White wrote on LinkedIn:
