New industry-specific modules targeting five vertical industries have been added to SAP’s RISE offerings to support more business functions as the German tech giant strives for continuous innovation in a post-pandemic global economy.

SAP CEO Christian Klein has kicked off SAPPHIRE NOW 2021 on the 2nd of June, addressing attendees at the conference which was held online for the second year running. He said in a global keynote speech:

“Continuous innovation is what we are striving for here at SAP. Together with our strong ecosystem, we will provide you with exactly the solutions you need for your industry. As all of your business models are changing, SAP will expand the core and deliver intelligent solutions designed for your industry. We will go big with the SAP Industry Cloud on June 15.”

An expansion of SAP’s RISE product called “RISE with SAP for Industries” was highlighted during the virtual event for partners and customers. The latest announcement extends the value of the Business Transformation as a Service milestone offering with additional packages for five industries including Automotive, Consumer Products, Industrial Machinery and Components, Retail, and Utilities.

Initially outlined in January, RISE with SAP is a collection of subscription-based software and services aimed at helping enterprises with their cloud migration and digital transformation projects. Additionally, all RISE services are built on the SAP Business Technology Platform, which offers a shared data model and access to SAP Business Network — designed to simplify procurement and logistics by centralising supplier information on a single platform. The packages also include the SAP S/4HANA Cloud application suite along with business process intelligence software and other industry solutions.

Extending SAP’s RISE Product to Vertical Industries

Furthermore, RISE with SAP for Industries provides a variety of flexible offerings to meet businesses and organisations’ industry-specific needs. The solutions also include services to plan and execute transformation programs, business process intelligence to analyse and optimise business processes, and cloud applications that support best practices.

Packages are currently available for the following five industries:

Automotive. This package enables automotive firms to improve process agility, decrease business and technology risk, ensure customer satisfaction, generate predictable and new revenue streams, and adopt sustainable best practices.

Consumer Products. RISE with SAP for Consumer Products aims to help consumer products companies cut costs, manage risk, improve decision-making, and shorten time to value, allowing them to fulfill the needs of customers throughout their whole journey.

Industrial Machinery and Components. This solution gives industrial manufacturers differentiating business capabilities through best practices and industry cloud solutions, allowing them to drive business transformation towards sustainability.

Retail. Retailers may utilise RISE with SAP for Retail to develop with shoppers and consumers in mind, employ next-generation retail processes as a service, and run a more agile, efficient, and sustainable business.

Utilities. This strategic cloud solution enables utilities to seize new possibilities and build new business models in the dynamic market for innovative commodity and non-commodity products by supporting lead-to-cash procedures.

Additional RISE with SAP Announcements

Meanwhile, SAP has also launched RISE with SAP for Human Experience Management (HXM), a new HR module aimed at bolstering operations and planning and improving engagement and productivity. It is a rebranding of SuccessFactors, the enterprise software giant’s existing cloud human capital management (HCM) platform, with new functionalities added on top of the company’s Qualtrics survey tool.

SAP Chief Marketing and Solutions Officer Julia White said:

“With the integration of SuccessFactors and Qualtrics, employee understanding is available any time. Employee experience data identifies what is going well, and areas for improvement, in a data-driven way.”

Moreover, the tech company also debuted RISE with SAP for Modular Cloud ERP, consisting of pre-integrated and pre-configured modules on one platform with a single data model — extending RISE with SAP to cloud line-of-business modules.
