The million-dollar growth equity investment from Scottish Equity Partners will accelerate the product development of Basis Technologies’ automation software that enables organisations to drive business agility and transformation across their SAP systems.

Basis Technologies, the creator of the only fully automated DevOps and test platform specifically engineered for SAP, has received a $25 million investment from Scottish Equity Partners (SEP), a growth equity investor focused on technology companies. The strategic partnership is directed to capture the growing global enterprise market for DevOps for SAP, which is valued at over $1.5 billion per annum.

Founded in Melbourne and now headquartered in London, Basis Technologies is the original pioneer of the DevOps and CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) approach in SAP. Recognised as a leader in DevOps for SAP, the company has gained more SAP users like Ericsson, Interpublic Group, and Columbia Sportswear employing Basis Technologies’ automation software to help them move beyond isolated SAP development and towards the idea of integrating SAP into enterprise-wide IT tool chains.

Scottish Equity Partners to Boost DevOps Capabilities

The substantial funding from SEP is anticipated to further bolster the robust growth that Basis Technologies has achieved in recent years. With the million-dollar equity investment, the company is well-positioned to make headway for product development and adoption of its industry-leading software through the expansion of global sales and partnership capabilities.

“We are delighted to have SEP on board as our investment partner to help fuel the continued growth of Basis Technologies. We look forward to working together to expand our product, sales, and delivery capabilities and to bring our pioneering DevOps automation solutions to more SAP users across the globe,” said Martin Metcalf, CEO of Basis Technologies.

“Basis Technologies is ideally positioned to benefit from the increasing need to adopt DevOps within SAP environments as businesses transition to the cloud and SAP’s new offerings. The company has an excellent reputation, puts its customers first, and has significant experience delivering innovative automation software to organisations using SAP. We are pleased to be partnering with the team at Basis to help them achieve their strategic growth goals,” stated Keith Davidson, Partner at SEP

Unlocking SAP’s Full Potential

In a recently published IDC report entitled “Driving Agility, Efficiency and Velocity for Business Applications with DevOps”, the Industry Analyst delve into the significant impact of DevOps on SAP and has recommended SAP users to assess and adopt targeted DevOps tools and strategies for business success.

“IDC sees growing evidence of the adoption of DevOps across IT organizations in general and a substantial opportunity for DevOps practices to help SAP teams deliver innovation more quickly, work more efficiently, and increase agility across the enterprise,” the report stated.

The report highlighted how Basis Technologies’ SAP-specific automation software helps enterprises unlock the full potential of SAP technology and become more agile, innovative, and competitive.

Basis Technologies’ advanced DevOps and test automation platform is designed specifically to accelerate and reduce the risk associated with SAP software development and delivery processes. The platform that is SAP Certified for use on both S/4HANA and ECC systems consists of two products: ActiveControl and Testimony. ActiveControl acts as a central point of control for changes to SAP applications while Testimony enables regression testing of core SAP systems and seeks to reduce the risk of change by improving quality and increasing efficiency.

Below are the benefits of leveraging Basis Technologies’ software automation mentioned in the IDC report:

  • Deploy SAP changes faster with higher quality, greater efficiency, and cost savings, and do so at lower risk
  • Accelerate transformation initiatives, increase business agility, and benefit from the faster realization of value
  • Transition more easily to new SAP technology iterations to increase return on SAP investments

Basis Technologies employs 70 professionals across the UK, US, Australia, Germany, and Hungary and continues to expand partnerships with innovative technology and service providers to help SAP enterprises achieve business agility and transformation in the digital age.
