Social Enterprise UK is known as the creator of the UK’s largest database of social enterprise suppliers– the Buy Social Directory.
Adaire Fox-Martin, an Executive Board Member of SAP SE managing the Customer Success board area, will now be adding another global title under her belt. Serving in a voluntary capacity, Fox-Martin has been appointed as the Global Buy-Social Ambassador by the Social Enterprise UK (SEUK), the leading global authority on social enterprise.
Buy-Social, SEUK’s flagship campaign, aims to build markets for social enterprises among the general public as well as the private and public sectors. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the social impact of purchasing decisions. As the Global Buy-Social Ambassador, Fox-Martin is expected to encourage enterprises across industries and geographies to innovate with and procure from social enterprises. She will be doing the Ambassador role while also fulfilling her responsibilities for SAP’s global business with a resolute focus on the success of over 440,000 customers and nearly 40,000 employees.
Championing Social Entrepreneurship
A respected thought leader and a regular speaker and panelist at global conferences, Fox-Martin advocates social entrepreneurship, workplace inclusivity, and fulfillment. It is no surprise that the SEUK has tapped her for the vital role of connecting organisations across industries to social enterprises.
“The past few months drastically highlight the need to think and act differently. We must seek out opportunities to be cooperative and find ways to support each other while confronting some of the world’s greatest challenges,” Fox-Martin said.
“It is clear that purpose and profit can and must co-exist. The social enterprise movement is more than evidence of that; it’s inspiration. Customers, employees, and partners need to see an environmental or social mission woven into the fabric of every business. Supporting social enterprises provides an entry point to meeting that demand while also creating a new path to growth,” she added.
Under her leadership, since 2019, SAP has significantly increased the amount it spends with social enterprises in select markets and has also expanded the company’s social procurement strategy and encouraged customers and partners to replicate the efforts.
Social Enterprise UK CEO Peter Holbrook stated:
“SAP’s leadership and commitment to galvanize large companies into creating positive change through their everyday business spend will benefit the communities they work in and those the world over.”
“Now is the time for businesses to look at their social and environmental impact and recognize the power and influence they can have in building a fairer, more sustainable economy,” he added.
Spearheading the SAP and SEUK Collaboration
Aside from Fox-Martin’s proven track record in SAP as the previous lead for Global Customer Operations (now part of Customer Success) and President of SAP’s business in APJ, she has also spearheaded SAP and SEUK’s collaboration on the SAP One Billion Lives Ventures.
With Fox-Martin’s support, SAP and SEUK have created SAP One Billion Lives Ventures, a social intrapreneurship program focused on improving the lives of one billion people around the world through the creation of sustainable business ventures that have a social mission at the core of their operations. It is a brand-new content channel that promotes current thinking from the world of social enterprise and hopes to inspire a closer collaboration between social enterprises, corporates, and consumers to accelerate a wider social change.
Leading SAP Customer Success
Recently, fulfilling her role as the lead for SAP’s Customer Success, Fox-Martin has made the official announcement opening the SAP Innovation Awards 2021. She encouraged SAP customers and partners to consider participating in the innovation awards to share their inspiring stories.
“While our mettle continues to be tested in profound ways, digital resilience is flourishing. The push to rethink how we do everything — from business and schooling to birthday parties — drives creativity with a new urgency.
The value of innovation has never meant more. SAP was founded on innovation and recognising its role and promise is core to who we are,” Fox-Martin said.
