Accenture expands its business and plans for the future with the acquisition of supply chain consultancy, Icon Integration.
On the 17th of February, Accenture, an award-winning SAP partner, announced via Business Wire that it had acquired Icon Integration, an Australian technology consultancy that specialises in SAP digital supply chain solutions. They also offer specialised business intelligence (BI) solutions to clients across the ANZ region.
The supply chain consultancy company was founded in the year 2011 and employed around 70 professionals across its offices in Sydney and Melbourne. They also have an office in New Zealand. It has a proven track record in working with consumer goods, government organisations, and retail companies. Its expertise is mainly in supply chain execution, particularly warehouse management.
Scott Hahn, the Accenture Technology Lead for Australia and New Zealand, shared his thoughts on the recent acquisition with InsideSAP:
“Accenture has been at the forefront of advising and assisting organisations across all sectors on how best to utilise technology and innovative thinking to improve business performance. The acquisition of Icon Integration will add valuable expertise to Accenture that will reinforce our Technology practice service offering, particularly in SAP applications and business intelligence. The acquisition will strengthen our ability to help clients make the most of their technology investments in order to capitalise on the opportunity presented by the digital economy.”
He added that the existing clients of Icon Integration would “benefit from Accenture’s deep local knowledge and industry experience of delivering often large complex IT projects for a range of organisations across ANZ.” He also added that the customers would also “gain access to Accenture’s global expertise, scale, reach, and resources, including those provided by its dedicated Technology business locally and across the globe.”
Furthermore, Hahn said:
“Icon Integration will become part of the Accenture Technology business and gain access to our broad industry capabilities and deep technology expertise, including our growing SAP business, both locally and globally.”
Paul Roddis, the co-founder and co-managing director of Icon Integration, shared his excitement in the opportunities brought about by the joining of forces with Accenture. He noted how it would benefit the company’s employees and clients.
He said:
“Our people will be able to expand their skills and grow their careers through exposure to new clients, new work, and new experiences. Our clients will gain access to a broader set of services and capabilities, both locally and globally.”
The Chairman of Accenture in Australia and New Zealand shared that Accenture has made several acquisitions, particularly in areas with growing demand from clients. He said that the investments are Accenture’s way of demonstrating the commitment to broaden the company’s capabilities to deliver better services for its clients and to open opportunities for growth in the future.
Accenture has been actively acquiring companies in the last 12 months, which included Apis Group, a specialist government consultancy, in December 2019; Analytics8, a big data and analytics company, in August 2019; and BCT Solutions, a cybersecurity and technology company, in June 2019.
The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
