Wipro to Acquire SAP Consulting Services Firm Rizing

Wipro Limited, a world leader in the IT industry, recently made a huge play in the SAP market with its announcement to acquire SAP consulting services provider Rizing Intermediate Holdings, Inc.

Known for its comprehensive portfolio of services, Wipro Limited maintains its good position in the industry as experts in improving customer experience as well as delivering digital transformation initiatives. Also part of the company’s objectives is to help utilities grow and adapt to the ever-changing requirements in the fast-paced world through digitisation and business innovation.

In 2019, Wipro successfully implemented SAP S/4HANA for Sydney Water, a New South Wales Government-owned and managed corporation. The project was aimed at simplifying the billing processes and increasing efficiency in operations.

As part of its commitment to helping enterprises modernise their mission-critical processes, Wipro expanded its SAP capabilities by signing a definitive agreement to acquire Rizing, a global award-winning SAP partner. The SAP consulting services firm is the latest in a string of Wipro’s acquisitions by Wipro, all of which highlight its ambitious expansion plans for the future.

Thrilled to welcome Rizing as part of Wipro’s team, Wipro Limited Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Thierry Delaporte shared in a statement:

“Rizing’s complementary consulting capabilities and strong client relationships will significantly boost our existing offering, creating one of the most differentiated SAP services in the marketplace. Together, we will be able to expand our presence in high-growth industry sectors.”

Meanwhile, Rajan Kohli, President of Integrated Digital, Engineering and Application Services (iDEAS) business at Wipro Limited, believes customers are turning to the company to seek assistance in transitioning towards becoming intelligent enterprises. He also noted that client’s needs in terms of digital transformation are “rapidly evolving.”

Commenting on the recent announcement to acquire Rizing, Kohli said:

“Rizing’s domain expertise, combined with our cloud and digital solutions, will allow us to help clients unlock new value and build agile businesses for a new era of digitalisation.”

Combining Wipro’s Scale and Rizing’s SAP Consulting Services

Rizing is based in Stamford, Connecticut, and employs over 1,300 staff in 16 countries across Australia, Asia, North America, and Europe. One Equity Partners, a private equity group, had previously owned the company. Adding Rizing’s industry expertise and SAP consulting capabilities in enterprise asset management (EAM), consumer industries, and human experience management (HXM) is anticipated to help Wipro keep its reputation as a sought-after partner for customers undertaking significant SAP transformation projects.

In 2020, Rizing received the SAP Partner Excellence Strategic Industry Award for its experience in leveraging the SAP Enterprise Asset Management software for its clients’ transformation projects. Furthermore, the award recognised the excellent efforts made by Rizing’s global workforce of more than 270 EAM professionals at the time.

Mike Maiolo, Chief Executive Officer at Rizing, noted that the latest industry development is the next stage of growth for Rizing. He said that aside from increasing the value it provides to its existing customers, the company will be better positioned to offer its differentiated offering to a wider wide range of organisations with Wipro’s support.

In addition to becoming one of Wipro’s key strategic partners around the globe for SAP, Rizing will serve as a significant extension of Wipro’s SAP cloud practice and Wipro FullStride Cloud Services. Through SAP cloud implementations, the integrated offering will assist clients in identifying and capturing new business opportunities and competitive capabilities.
