The annual SAP Best Run Awards for Australia and New Zealand recognize outstanding customers and partners in the region for their remarkable SAP implementations and disruptive use cases across various industries.
Enterprise software multinational SAP has announced the winners of this year’s Best Run Awards for Australia and New Zealand, recognizing customers and implementation partners in the region leveraging SAP technologies and products to drive innovation and business transformation. The awarding ceremony held at Hinchcliff House in Sydney’s Circular Quay was hosted by SAP ANZ President and Managing Director Damien Bueno and SAP Head of Industries Pete Andrew.
“SAP is helping some of the region’s biggest organizations achieve their current and future ambitions. Through the Best Run Awards, we celebrate technology’s powerful impact on business results, customer and employee experience, and local communities,” said Bueno.
The latest SAP financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2022, demonstrated that customers are rapidly expanding their SAP landscapes specifically backed by cloud solutions such as SAP S/4HANA, RISE with SAP, and SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). In particular with SAP S/4HANA’s adoption, over 650 customers decided to use the intelligent enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution during the quarter, bringing the total number of customers to almost 20,000.
2022 SAP Best Run Awards Winners
Winners were awarded across 12 categories for showcasing new ways of thinking, disruptive use cases, and technology deployment that elevates industry standards and embodies SAP’s purpose of helping the world run better. From March to August 2022, participating organizations were evaluated by the award team– from selecting finalists to recognizing the prize winners.
Here are this year’s awardees:
- Best Run SAP CRM & Customer Experience: Total Tools
Leveraging the Emarsys platform, Total Tools was able to fill the gaps between their data sets, enabling the activation of true 1:1 personalization and the omnichannel experience.
- Best Run SAP Industry Disruptor: TasNetworks, with Bourne Digital
In collaboration with SAP partner Bourne Digital, TasNetworks developed ‘Aspect’, a mobile app leveraging SAP BTP to combine data from the SAP ERP application and third-party geospatial data from Esri ArcGIS.
- Best Run SAP Intelligent ERP Enterprise: Origin, with DXC Technology
Supported by DXC Technology as the implementation partner, Origin utilized SAP S/4 HANA, SAP Ariba, SAP Concur, SAP Asset Manager, SAP Analytics Cloud, OpenText VIM, and xECM to implement a new suite of ERP solutions and standardize business processes.
- Best Run SAP Intelligent ERP – Cloud (ERP Subcategory): Fonterra
Leveraging an intelligent suite of SAP solutions, Fonterra was able to realize its ‘Cloud-First’ Strategy enabling the migration of Fonterra’s three critical applications from on-premises to SAP PCE without compromising on success metrics.
- Best Run SAP Intelligent ERP – Business Process Transformation (ERP Subcategory): NSW Department of Customer Service, with PwC
DCS tapped PwC to enable the transformation of their Corporate Services functions and selected SAP Signavio as their preferred Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) tool of choice.
- Best Run SAP Experience Management: Mitre 10 New Zealand
Leveraging Qualtrics for data insights and listening capabilities, Mitre 10 was able to refine its customer experience offering and management.
- Best Run SAP Human Resources & People Management: Ok Tedi Mining, with Deloitte
In collaboration with Deloitte, Ok Tedi Mining expanded its investment in SAP SuccessFactors– which had a go live in 2019– by adding other HR solutions such as Employee Central, including Time-Off, Timesheets, and the integration of SAP’s on-premise payroll. In addition, Performance and Goals Management, Succession Management, and Career Development Planning, both had go-lives in early 2022.
- Best Run SAP Network & Spend Management: Woolworths Group
Woolworths Group Limited rolled out a suite of SAP Ariba solutions such as SAP Ariba Sourcing, SAP Ariba Contracts, SAP Business Network, SAP Ariba Buying & Invoicing, and SAP Ariba APIs to digitalize procurement processes
- Best Run SAP Next-Gen Innovator: Orica
Orica implemented SAP Robotic Process Automation services on SAP S/4HANA enabling Integrated, intelligent & automated business-critical data updates and workflow in real-time.
- Best Run SAP Data & Analytics: Sydney Water
Sydney Water embedded SAP Analytics Cloud as the key analytics tool for the BxP program, enabling it to generate and visualize live and import-based analytics and provide real time insights, perform what-if simulations and also obtain AI-enabled predictive capabilities on financial performance.
- Best Run SAP Digital Supply Chain: Lion
According to the Lions pitch deck, the company leveraged the AI / ML capabilities in SAP BTP to incorporate transportation variation by leg, into the existing SAP IBP – Inventory Optimisation module through the re-imaging of the standard use case to allow us to accurately calculate transportation lead-time variation at route-level further refining the material x location-specific multi-echelon calculations used to recommend the target inventory level.
- The Chris O’Brien Award: Taronga Zoo
Taronga leveraged the modeling capabilities of SAP S/4HANA Cloud, in combination with the data visualization and augmented analysis capabilities of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) to modernize data consolidation and reporting processes.
- Honorable Mention: Dermalogica
Dermalogica embarked on a complete financial transformation by implementing multiple SAP Concur solutions namely Concur Invoice,Concur Purchase Request, SAP Concur Travel Management, SAP Concur Expense, and Concur Business Intelligence.
