Australian SAP Gold Partner Acclimation announced that it has successfully completed Viridian Glass’ SAP S/4HANA implementation project. According to Acclimation’s managing director Rod Taubman, this is the SAP consultancy company’s 10th implementation using the SAP Activate Methodology for cloud enterprise resource planning (ERP).
Viridian Glass has been in operation for over 160 years and is considered the largest glass processor in Australia. The company employs custom processes to create glass that is specially designed to suit each customer’s space and project needs. Most recently, Viridian was acquired by Crescent Capital Partners.
To more efficiently manage its upstream glass manufacturer and downstream window manufacturers across Australia and New Zealand, Viridian needed to replace its legacy ERP system with a cloud-based solution. It required a modern software system that would meet the following criteria:
- highly-configurable
- cost-effective
- user-friendly
- can integrate with the company’s Lisec manufacturing solutions
Viridian decided to implement SAP S/4HANA to meet these needs. The glass manufacturer also needed a partner who could deploy this new solution within a short timeframe. To do this, it turned to Acclimation who used the SAP Activate Methodology for the project deployment.
What is SAP Activate Methodology
The SAP Activate Methodology is SAP’s extensively researched systematic approach to ensure project success—it builds on three components: SAP Best Practices, Guided Configuration and Methodology.
SAP Activate’s benefits include:
- a reference solution in the cloud for a fast start
- tools for an assisted implementation that allows for continuous adaptation and innovation
- consistent deployment regardless of mode: on-site, cloud, or hybrid
- SAP best practices that are optimized for S4/HANA.
According to Acclimation, its experience with the SAP Activate Methodology was critical in the successful deployment of Viridian’s SAP S/4HANA project.
Acclimation managing director Rod Taubman said:
“Acclimation’s experience was key in delivering this project across two near-simultaneous instances in the tight timeframes required by Crescent Capital, which was a key success metric.”
Neville Buch, a partner for Crescent Capital, comments:
“Having acquired Viridian, Crescent Capital had limited time and budget to accomplish a split into three separate businesses with their own systems. SAP S/4HANA Cloud MTE, together with Acclimation’s rapid deployment approach, proved to be the right choices and we’re delighted with the outcome.”
SAP S/4HANA Benefits
Buch further notes:
“With Acclimation and SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, Viridian can now operate more consistently across different functions, departments and regions with new levels of efficiency and transparency.”
SAP S/4HANA enabled Viridian to localise platforms for its business units across Australia and New Zealand. The future-ready and intelligent enterprise resource planning system also provided the company with predefined content and architecture.
Moreover, SAP Cloud Platform Integration allowed Viridian to maintain business continuity while providing automated warnings and forecasting by seamlessly connecting SAP with its existing manufacturing systems.
