SAP business in Ireland has massively scaled up since 2007, from 30 headcounts in one office area at East Point Business Park in Dublin to becoming home to 2,300 SAP professionals working across 55 lines in Dublin and Galway.

2022 is proving to be a milestone year for many SAP offices worldwide. While SAP is celebrating half a century of innovation and helping the world run better through intelligent solutions in Germany, other countries where SAP has been operating for decades are also honoring the company’s contribution to advancing customers’ and partners’ digital transformation.

SAP Ireland, named one of LinkedIn’s 25 Best Workplaces in the country, recently commemorated 25 years of operations delivering innovative solutions to organizations in EMEA and the Americas. The celebration held in the company’s Galway office was headlined by Clas Neumann, global head of the SAP Labs Network, and Liam Ryan, SAP Ireland managing director; and graced by the presence of Hildegarde Naughton, Minister of State, and Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA Ireland.

“On the occasion of SAP celebrating 25 years in Ireland I would like to thank the Ireland Leadership team and all SAP Ireland employees in Dublin and Galway for their expertise, flexibility, motivation, and exceptional customer focus,” Ryan stated. “Over the past 25 years we have helped guide customers and partners on their transformation journeys and as SAP celebrates its 50th anniversary globally we look forward to helping even more customers run better and improving people’s lives.“

Commending SAP Ireland’s successful operations in the country, Minister Naughton said:

”I’m hugely impressed with the achievements of SAP since they located in Ireland 25 years ago. SAP makes a significant contribution to the local economy both here in Galway and in Dublin. I would like to thank SAP for their continued commitment to Ireland and to wish the team well for many more years to come.”

A place that champions diversity, this office is home to colleagues from 50 nationalities– covering 29 languages– that comprise teams responsible for support, cloud services, technical writing, and e-learning, among many others.

SAP Ireland has also embraced the firm’s worldwide “Pledge to Flex” initiative, which allows 100% flexibility at workplace to ensure employees are supported and have access to what they need to be productive, creative, and inspired while running the business responsibly and meeting business requirements in today’s new role of work. The Dublin and Galway offices have been redesigned to support the flexible hybrid working model being implemented by SAP around the world.

Furthermore, the SAP Center of Expertise (CoE) in Ireland boasts of a team of Service Delivery Engineers that provide advisory, support, and services to help deliver excellent outcomes and experiences to customers leveraging SAP S/4HANA and SAP Cloud Solutions.

“I want to congratulate SAP on this really important milestone of 25 years in Ireland. SAP has played an important role in the development of Ireland’s tech ecosystem, “ Shanahan commented. “As one of Ireland’s largest and most-established tech companies, SAP’s investment in Ireland over the years and ongoing education initiatives have greatly enhanced our reputation as a tech hub in Europe. I wish Liam and the entire team continued success.”
