New Expanded Partnership Strengthen SAP and Microsoft Azure Integration

The SAP and Microsoft Azure integration strengthens as the long-term strategic partners announce that they are advancing the adoption of SAP S/4 HANA on Microsoft Azure along with plans to integrate Microsoft Teams with SAP intelligent suite of solutions with the commitment to provide a simple and easy transition of business experiences in the cloud.

As the world adapts to changes brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, business processes and work has also taken a sharp turn towards the digital world, prompting a major transition to cloud-enabled solutions. Microsoft and SAP to continue finding solutions for business enterprises to help them adapt to these changes and help accelerate their journey into the cloud. The companies plan to launch new upgrades to their expanded strategic partnership by mid-2021.

SAP and Microsoft Azure Integration

Innovating together isn’t new for SAP and Microsoft. In fact, one of their existing cloud partnership which started in 2019 is getting an upgrade. To enable the customers to run their business operations more seamlessly, the companies will advance the adoption of SAP S/4 HANA on Microsoft Azure.

According to SAP and Microsoft, this expanded partnership provides the following key benefits to customers:

  • Faster and easier migration of on-premise editions of SAP ERP to SAP S/4 HANA in the cloud.
  • Expanded joint engagements with customers and partners with continuous provision of digital enterprise roadmaps and technical guidance to help them fast-track their journey to the cloud.
  • Increased investments in platform and infrastructure. The companies will further develop automated migrations, improved operations, monitoring and security.

Microsoft Teams Integration

With the target to improve productivity and overall business operations, SAP and Microsoft plan to deliver streamlined solutions to customers by integrating Microsoft Teams with SAP’s intelligent suite of solutions, including SAP S/4HANA, SAP SuccessFactors, and SAP Customer Experience.

This solution aim to provide the following benefits to customers:

  • Improve collaboration with business partners without the need to constantly switch between applications.
  • Simplify processes and communication using SAP Sales Cloud with Microsoft Teams.
  • Encourage collaboration between employees.

  • Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. – an American holding company that owns Walgreens, Boots, and a number of pharmaceutical manufacturing, wholesale, and distribution companies. 
  • Coats Group plc – a British multi-national company is the world’s largest manufacturer and distributor of sewing thread and supplies, and the second-largest manufacturer of zips and fasteners.
